This product arrived with specs on the lid. Color appears to be very dark. After reading various reviews I reached out to Herbivore who took it upon themselves to provide excellent customer service. I tried reaching out to the seller, (WM Corner) but Amazon kept pointing me to Herbivore. Herbivore has nothing to do with this and it is out of their hands what happens at other sellers location. This mask has expiration date and if sellers keep these masks for too long, the mask will expire. The best thing Herbivore could do is post manufacturing date on the outside of the box.     • Is This Fairy Blood?
I don't write many reviews, but I had to for this product. I used to make and sell my own line of organic skincare products. Now that I am out of the game, I'm always on the lookout for great indie companies to support. I read about the Blue Tansy mask on a beauty blog that gave it such glowing reviews I immediately wanted to try it. Then I saw how much it cost, and I was gobsmacked. $50 is a lot to spend on a mask. My skin is pretty healthy, as skin goes. (Mostly genetics, folks. Anyone who says differently is selling something.) I am, however, extremely fair, so I have a fair amount of redness and sun damage. The blog I read said again and again how this helped her with her redness and sun damage, so I saved my pennies and gave it ago. I was immediately taken with the minimalist packaging, and the smell of the product. You can smell it through the box, but it is in now way overpowering. It's a beautiful cool and woodsy scent. The mask is blue in the jar, but goes on clear. The smell is super relaxing, and it feels so cool and delicious on your face. It's more like a gel mask than a mud mask, only not as sticky. The box said there could be some tingling, but I haven't experienced it. I waited the allotted time and rinsed my face. I didn't expect an immediate difference, but there was one. My skin looked calm, no redness, and dewy. I actually gasped when I looked in the mirror. I've been using it twice a week for a few weeks, and the jar still looks full, so you get a lot of product for the price. Also, it might literally be magic. I keep joking with my partner that it must be fairy blood. (Gory, yes, but that's how good it is.) I very highly recommend this to anyone who needs their skin to calm down, but especially to folks struggling with redness and sun damage. It's incredible. ... show more

I have an oily t zone, prone to breakouts and I was excited to try this based on the reviews. It was listed $10 cheaper than usual so I thought I would try it. It had a very strong odor, looked like there were things floating in it and the top had black specks that I believe was mold. It also didn't have a white plastic barrier between the lid and product like the Herbivore Aquarius moisturizer that I use. I didn't see an expiration date. I'm returning this. ... show more

    • So far, so good - for deep cystic acne
I received the mask yesterday and tried it last night. So, full disclosure, the package tells you to use it for 3 days and then 1x per week after that. I get deep cystic acne when I'm stressed. They lay deep under the surface, itching, hurting, and swelling up and I have to wait for them to surface (sometimes weeks) before they will go away. I'm stressed right now so I thought this might help. Last night I opened the bottle and the stuff was sort of gloopy, very liquid like liquid aloe but it's blue and smells good. I put it on my face after cleansing with my normal Murad Acne face wash. I waited 20 minutes and washed it off. I was doubtful it was doing anything because it did not tingle or sting in any way. It basically felt like I put liquid aloe on my face. I washed it off and finished my normal routine and went to bed. This morning a deep pimple came to the surface. Some people think this is bad but I was actually happy - it's working. I can tell that this may solve my issue during stressful times at work. I think if I use this for 3 days, it will bring everything deep up to the surface so I can clear it up. Then using once a week, that will keep new ones from getting out of hand.     • Awesome product if your expectations are appropriate
This is one of my favorite products. I only wish it came in a larger size! I read the negative reviews on this product and want to give a heads up on a few things to anyone who is thinking of buying this product: 1. This is a resurfacing mask. It uses enzymes to remove dead skin from the surface of your face, and this includes removing surface-level blemishes, improving the appearance of the skin. It is not specifically intended to moisturize the skin. I do no think it is drying, but moisturizing is not the stated intent of the product. 2. Resurfacing can be slightly painful. This mask does tingle and even burns ever-so-slightly, but overall it is a very mild resurfacer and many are more painful. 3. This is not a mud mask or a paper mask or a peel mask. It is a bluish-green, runny gel. It is reminiscent of slime. It goes on in a clearish-bluish-green and is difficult to remove with just water. Gentle removal with a cloth is recommended. 4. This product is not scented with perfumes. Therefore, it smells like blue tansy, which has an earthy, almost mushroomy smell. If you are expecting an aromatherapeutic experience, you should look at another product. 5. This is not a miracle product. Like any product, you should not expect this product to revolutionize your face overnight. You should use it daily for the first week and then go to a few times per week. 6. If your expectations are appropriate, you may love this product. I have acne scars, and within a week I did notice my complexion being much brighter and smooth, with some of the scarring already fading. ... show more
