  • Gift for my grand daughter with two little girls!
Some home remedies that work!

  • Great for beginner!
I'm a nurse but, as you can probably imagine, I wasn't taught about any of these remedies in school. That's unfortunate. I started with buying tea blends, especially Tulsi. I noticed great results and read this book on Kindle Unlimited before deciding to purchase it. It is so thorough, yet concise. It's not overwhelming. I feel the authors chose a great selection of herbs that really cover the spectrum of most of the conditions and/or symptoms that you'd probably encounter. I picked out about 10 to start with and so far so good. They reviewed 35 herbs total which is just enough, in my opinion, for the novice. Then, in the back of the book are recipes and combos to try for teas, and tonics, etc. My only negative is the paperback. I received 2 from Amazon in less than new condition in my opinion. I prefer a hardcover for books like this that I'll be using on a daily basis. It's basically like a textbook and cookbook. It's probably going to get pretty warn out. Not a big deal, just mentioning for the authors. :) ... show more

  • Comprehensive and Informative
This is a good introductory book to botanical remedies. I also have Green’s Medicinal handbook, a couple different materia medicas, and other herbal books. With all things, verify. If 3-10 books agree on an herb, its usage, dosage, best practices, then yay and proceed! If you can’t find 3 books to agree, best not to use that particular herb. Try each herb, one at a time. Use a single herb within a 24 hour period, especially if you’ve never used botanicals before. If there is no reaction, then take that herb in whichever form is recommended. Wait 24 hours. If no reaction, keep it in your resources list. First aid is huge on my mind right now, so I would recommend starting with making salves and infused oils, as they can be time intensive. Same with tinctures. Apple cider vinegar and/or glycerin tinctures, teas, and syrups for children 2+. Again, this is a good, comprehensive and informative book, a good companion for an herbal class such as found on Udemy, the Centre for Excellence, and Coursera. Read this book - it’s available with Kindle Unlimited. Then buy this book, because you’ll want to refer back to it. Learn. Play around with the remedies. Find what works best for you and your family. Have fun. Explore the world of herbalism. Welcome. ... show more
