Small one had crack at one end which was initially sharp and cut my hand a little. The large one feels furry is the best way to explain it. Up close you can see the soft splinters of the wood on the surface. Maybe it was sanded across the grain/ sanded it the wrong way. The smaller one is a bigger issue for me because it’s got a defined crack on one end maybe ⅛ inch deep. I’m not great with the metric maybe an eighth of an inch. The big deal when used rolling dough, the crack is going to get flour etc into that crevice and make it gross and bacteria etc. I think overall I’m just disappointed I really didn’t expect there to be anything wrong with it because it looks so nice online and I read a lot of the reviews so it’s probably a quirk and I’ll consider calling customer service or chatting with them this weekend. I just don’t have time in the week and I want to use it to make pizza dough that’s why I’m disappointed because now I’m gonna have to go back to using my other rolling pin which works but isn’t great. Anyway, they look gorgeous and have they not had the crack in the fur. I’m sure they were handled beautifully. Let’s see how good their customer service I guess I’ll deal with it this weekend.
