I think this heating pad is terrific for the price. It gets nice and toasty quite quickly, and the blanket covering is thick and soft. I like the timing feature, and it is still working steadily after repeated use. However, my cat is indifferent to it and dislikes the cords, which apparently get in his way and scare him or upset him. I'll keep it around as it sometimes take him a while to adapt to something new. If he doesn't, I'll continue using it as a heating pad for me. I think it's great. ... show more

I got this for a friend because I thought it was indoor/outdoor and a stray had just moved on to her property. I was going to send it back and then I realized our cats weren’t getting anything for Christmas which is usually a big deal so I decided to give it to them. I have one older cat that is always trying to sleep on my neck. Her poor feet are always so cold. I put this thing on the end of the bed. It took her about 3 minutes to discover it and she hardly ever gets off of it now. It has the option to set a timer but unlike a regular heating pad, it doesn’t shut off unless you want it to. So I can keep it running as long as I want. It’s staying clean. Cat hair doesn’t seem to be clinging to it like a blanket or sheet. I really like it. My cats really like it. I bought this for my 15 year old cat. He lost his cuddle buddy last year and needed something to keep him warm since we keep the house cooler in the winter to save energy. I'm pleasantly surprised that this heating pad has surpassed all of my expectations. The furry liner is extremely soft to the touch. I was worried about some reviews that said the pad didn't heat sufficiently, but this one gets plenty warm. Even on setting 3 or 4, it's more than warm enough. I tried the max setting and was sweating with it on my arm and had to turn it down. The timer is a convenient feature as well. The cord is a little short, but the thickness makes it unlikely the cat (who chews on every cord or string he can get his mouth on) will be able to chew through it enough to damage it - or him. Before the heating pad, the cat would wander around yowling all day and night. Now, he sleeps like a little log on this thing. My only regret is that I didn't buy this heating pad sooner! ... show more

I have really questioned whether this item is even heating up. It worked very weakly, even on the highest setting. It works. Just not very well. It is otherwise well made and appears very durable.

We are in the midst of the coldest winter in years and have a 15 y/o dog with some challenges. She has problems walking, doesn't always eat, and is stubborn as a mule. First night we had it, we put it on the couch she sleeps on, under her blanket, and she slept all night! Usually gets up at least twice. This is a great size & love the timer. Like four other pad all purchased within the last three months with False temperature Data. The unit claims at top setting to get to 131 F. For some reason after 2 hrs at top temperature setting inside a warm house, the pad never even made it to 95 degrees.
