  • Best terrarium setup addition
Size: IPT-2CH Reptile Thermostat
I really like this product because it takes so much work out of owning temperature sensitive pets. You set the temperature you want and it keeps it in that range. I will say they are tricky to set up and you have to have regular Wi-Fi and not 5g to set it up. I also love that it has alarms and you can view it on your phone. Very convenient tech and I highly recommend just be prepared to fiddle with it for an hour or so to get it working how you want. I also really recommended the humidity one they sell in the same brand. ... show more

  • Great little controller
Size: IPT-2CH Reptile Thermostat
I suggest these a lot to people to control their heat sources for their snakes. I use several of them and they are great for new keepers who need to save up for the bigger ticket ones.

  • Works great. Sample control graphs included in review
Size: IPT-2CH Reptile Thermostat
Controls nearly perfect when used correctly. I think the negative reviews regarding control may be due to not understanding thermal inertia of the controlled item, see discussion below and attached plots. I tested it under a full 250watt load with no issues. Logging function is awesome, though the ap graphics are so lightly colored they are hard to read. Trends are easily downloaded as CSV for use in MS Excel if you want. Instructions for operation are for crap, but fortunately it is not that difficult to operate the controller and logger function. Probe lengths make it easy to use on two controlled setups at once. Regarding attached plots: 1. I plugged a 250w (maximum rating) heat lamp into load 1 and directed it at the temp. probe at about 10" away, proge just hanging in air. Since there is minimal thermal inertia, the control is perfect between the two set points. If one wants to control to a single set point, then they need to buy a much more expensive PID controller. This is a two point controller so this is what you get. 2. I plugged in a 50w heating blanket (one for your back) on load 2 and set the temp probe on the blanket. Note that due to thermal inertia of the blanket, the temperature rises well above the upper set point. This is NOT bad control (on the controllers part), this is a bad configuration. 3. Once I was satisfied the controller worked OK under full load, I put it to actual use on a planting pot full of moist soild and using a heat mat under it. I wasn't sure how the dynamics of thermal inertia would be, but they looked OK with minimal under and overshoots. So I narrowed the set point range for the next plot. 4. Same set up as 3, but with narrower set points. Note that a wider setpoint will mean less cycles on the control device, narrower is better control but more cycles on the control device. Trade-off for longevity of device. ... show more

  • Build an automated brooder and never look back
Size: IPT-2CH Reptile Thermostat
My adult ADHD is severe enough that if I don't automate things where possible they get dropped---not a good combo with baby birds. I've got this controller paired with 2x500w heat lamps in a 300 gallon brooder, and it's made it a BREEZE to harden birds off easily and efficiently--each week I just lower the on/off temps 5-10 degrees until they're set. Quail, chickens, turkeys, emu---all thriving. ... show more

  • Great Value, Perfect Performance
Size: IPT-2CH Reptile Thermostat
Works exactly as advertised, with separate thermometers and heat controls for two trays. Easy monitoring from your phone is extremely convenient if mats and trays are located in an area with access to wireless.

  • Can't control through App -Update
Size: IPT-2CH Reptile Thermostat
I have two that work fine on the Inkbird Pro App. I bought a third one and you can't control it on the app. You only get a weird screen with a long list of things in Chinese. I ordered a replacement, and it was the same on the Inkbird Pro app. You can still manually set the thermostat but can't control it through the app. I downloaded the other Inkbird app and the two new ones do work through that app. It's weird because the ones I bought several months ago still work fine on the Pro app. ... show more

  • Temp fluctuation
Size: IPT-2CH Reptile Thermostat
These aren’t bad but I am switching them all out on my reptile enclosures as the temperature can fluctuate quite a bit and it took me almost two weeks to finally get things “settled”. Often I would set a high limit at 85 and it would exceed it regularly and without the alarm either. Hard to remove because this was installed while building the enclosure ... show more
