These tarps have some pretty good weight to them and so far the quality has held up. We'll see what they look like in a year and a half. Any changes I will update my review. The weatherproof coating is very effective. I don't know why some reviewers tried to wash it off and complain about it. Yes it smells strongly for the first few weeks, but small price to pay for weatherproofing. I am using this canvas tarp as a replacement for my vinyl awning on my RV. It keeps the area around my door nice and dry in the rain. It is holding up well against the major wind storms we have been experiencing. One of the grommets have ripped out, unfortunately. I have no idea why their listed size is not the finished size but know that the details are in the fine print, not the big print ad. The actual size is significantly smaller than the advertised size. If you've bought the girls telling you "size doesn't matter", this is your tarp. Like others, mine stunk to high heaven but I left it outside for a few days and now it's fine. I purchased these for a quick alternative for my horses to have a shelter for the coming winter. I added an extra layer of water proof spray on them just to be extra safe. I just moved into my house and some of my horses have had to go without shelter which they aren't used to. This seemed to be a great tarp for outdoor use. The front of the package is clearly marked "For outdoor use only". My problem is that the picture of the package on Amazon is missing the label "for outdoor use only". Also, the description on Amazon clearly states it's for indoor and outdoor use. I've written this review multiple times and it keeps getting rejected for not meeting review guidelines. I'm still trying to include in this review that the odor from this tarp, IMO, makes it not suitable for use inside of my garage. ... show more

Used these tarps to cover small frames to protect sliding door and French door so that once could walk out onto a deck. Each one of the tarps fell apart during our first rain storm. They were stretched across the frames and each frayed and then tore away from the frames. Had they been waterproof it would have been expected that the water would have run off as the frames each have a high and low front and back.
