  • Best tripod I own
This is a pro tripod, all the way, and built to last. With its quick release mount, it will hold anything from an iPhone (with adapter) to a full-sized video camera with standard screw mount. It extends to a standard shot height and even above my head (I’m 5’8”), allowing for higher up shots. I love the smooth action for pan shots: it works horizontally and vertically. Everything locks down as it should. I honestly believe this tripod will outlast me. It’s extremely well built and has no flimsy connections that are prone to break under normal wear. Having said all that, this is not a lightweight tripod, if you’re used to cheap $35-$65 versions. If you’re working in a windy environment, you’re going to love how stable it is. If you’re hiking 4 miles to reach a destination, it might be too much. However, if you put a pro camera on top of this tripod, you will immediately have street cred: it looks like a far more expensive, $700 and up unit. It performs flawlessly. ... show more

  • Amazing for the money, but not great for video...
This tripod is really great on many levels, but it's bulky, it's not fast to extend or retract, and the way it's made I've already scraped my skin a few times getting it in and out of the car.

  • An exciting find turned into a disappointment
Upon receiving the item, a quick inspection concluded that it was indeed on the cheaper side but the build quality felt like it would last longer than it had any right to for the price. But after I setup the tripod at a shoot, a build flaw became clear. The legs could be collapsed while the tripod was deployed and locked. I took it home to check the tension locks and confirmed that everything looked tight and in place. It appears the pads used to put tension on the tripod legs not only fail to apply enough pressure but have very little (if any) added material to increase friction. Thus a very modest amount of pressure could collapse the legs and potentially cause a major stability problem. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend purchasing this tripod. I’ve been in this field for over ten year and have only seen very cheap phone and DSLR tripods have these flaws. ... show more

  • I am a professional photographer not a videographer
This is my 1st ever video tripod I ever bought other than the cheap normal dslr tripods that can hold phone as well. So far it never gave me any trouble. Easy to use. So glad that it comes with a good carrying case as well. So great full for the allenkey(hex key) that comes with it to tight the 1/4” thread. Tilting and panning works smoothly and flawlessly for me. Never had any issues. I mostly use it to record church music videos and personal use. So far this is more than enough for me. For a professional videographer this might help as well but I prefer them having little high end long lasting products. ... show more

  • Best product for the price
This tripod is all I expected it to be. After paying top dollar for name brand tripods this one is designed with excellence. Comes with a handy bag to carry. Just a lot of little extras that make it so convenient. I Love it! Oh yeah it’s a very light weight and sturdy.

  • Finally, a well engineered low-cost (heavy duty) tripod
I can't tell you how many tripods I have bought in my career (all the way up to multi-hundred dollar Manfrottos), and certainly many Chinese-made units in this $100-$150 price range. Well I have finally found a low-cost tripod (this one) that is comparable to Manfrotto build quality, and engineering. Particularly the head on this one - just superb at this price-point. I can recommend it without hesitation. ... show more
