They do not very long, which is perfect. I tend to keep my sponges long enough to grow fond when I pitch them or they just leave in disgust, basically dragging a wet chunk of bacteria over my dishes. No problem with these because the scratchy part pretty much falls apart without a ton of effort. They are super cheap so I just toss it and start fresh from this slab of sponges die-cut from some giant mother sponge. OK, I prefer the sponges that have the more "uniform" bubble/cell pattern over these with the "imitation natural sponge" as I feel they can be kept cleaner / usable longer. This style of foam sponge seems to get smelly faster. And this package had them all beat - they "smelled" right from opening the package. The packaging is not like the photos, but they are in a plastic vacuum sealed bag, that barely fits into the box they arrive in. Once you open that bag, you will find you cannot store them in the box until you remove at least 4, possibly 8 of them. They also have a chemical smell, because they are still wet with some liquid from there manufacturing, or possibly a "preservative"? They will leave your hand damp and sticky. Fortunately they dry quickly and the smell is gone after one use. As to usability, the scrubby side is a bit thin and soft. It works "OK" but is definitely not up to par with those green pads from the big corporate outfit (who is also known for their many sticky tapes). But they also are only costing you about 1/4 as much as those big name guys, so as always YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. Would I buy these again - possibly, unless I find the yellow sponge /white scrubby ones I've been searching for. ... show more

So happy to have found white sponges, they make the kitchen look tidier and more sanitary, I guess cuz I always associate those yellow, pink, and blue sponges with bathroom cleaning sponges. My only complaint is that they are a bit small, and need to be about a half an inch larger on all four sides, other than that they're great! ... show more

I didn't think I would be writing a review of a sponge today (or ever) but these are very thin (2/3 thickness of "normal" sponge) and just not very satisfying to use. They're not bad (hence 4-stars) but I would not buy them again in a large pack since you'll be using them for awhile.
