I don't think this moves much air. It moves some, but nothing noticeable more than 2 feet away. It is silent and it is a great way to tell when your stove is hot enough to close the flue. It also lets you know when your fire is dying down. I bought another one for my sister.

Set my first fire in my woodstove today and put this fan to work right away. I was surprised how quickly it started working. It does blow heat. I think a lot of this may depend on the size and type of woodstove used. I live in the woods in the far northeast and rely heavily on wood for heat, so I have a heavy duty wood stove. This product stated that it came with a thermostat, as well. Other reviewers stated that they did not receive the thermostat and neither did I. I think the description should not included this feature, if they are not going to included it. False advertising. Otherwise, it works ok. I have my wood stove glowing red hot, the fan spins but you can't feel anything past like 1.5 inches and even when your that close you can't feel it on your hand you gotta use more sensitive skin like your face.. not sure if mine is defective or what but it's useless other than a decoration.

It’s a quality product and it does help with air flow although in a passive way, so I mostly find it useful for determining whether I need to add wood to the stove. The fan slows when the temperature of the stove drops. I have no regrets about my purchase.

This is a smaller stove fan, but it moves air well. I knocked it over once while loading wood and it is still working just fine. Have had it for 3 months.
