I have a 10x14 shed on some recreational property where I use this heater. Previously I had one of those combination heaters that doubles as a cooker. I found that design to be incredibly inefficient and not worth the added convenience of being able to cook with it. That style of heater doesn't burn efficiently and expels too much heat out the top. I did some research and thought I would try the heat hog and I'm glad I did. Currently the outside temperature is 25° and the heat hog keeps inside at 65. Using it on full power a10lb propane tank lasts me all weekend. I like the fact that this can run off the small propane tanks but I just run a line to my tank outside. The unit itself seems pretty sturdy and it does do a good job of distributing the heat evenly throughout the space. ... show more

It is now January 2024 (bought 2022) and this heater has been keeping my rabbits and pigeons nice and warm. We have a 15x25 barn and it heats it up perfectly. Runs great and no fume smell. Rabbits are enjoying the warm and their dishes are ice free despite the negative degree weather we were battling this year. It does go through propane fast but it is still only used a few times a year so I'm not too concerned with how often I have to fill especially since I want my animals comfortable and warm in the winters. ... show more

I purchased this heater to use at a family member's outdoor event and found that it produced heat for at best two people if you sis directly in front of the heater. I would assume that it would work better in a closed area such as a garage as advertised. It holds two cannisters, but it did not automatically transfer to the 2nd cannister when the 1st one emptied. However, it did warm my husband and myself only and the others around us had to use blankets or something else. If I remember a cannister only lasted for a total of an hour so if the event was longer prepare yourself with ample propane tanks (these are for the small camping size propane bottles) ... show more

Used the Heat Hog one time at Grandson's baseball game. It worked for a few minutes then turned off. It was a new bottle of gas. Restarted and it ran for a few minutes then turned off. This sequence repeated a dozen times. Contacted Amazon and was told to contact the Company directly. Contacted the Company and was told the item could not be returned and to contact Amazon. Contacted Amazon about a refund and was told I would get an email with the return label within 2 business days. After 4 business days I contacted Amazon again and was told I would get a response within 5-7 business days. I have never had this kind of delay from Amazon Prime. ... show more

If my grandmother needed to use this heater to avoid hypothermia, she’d be dead. You almost need a Caterpillar D10 to push the ignition button in. Upside; when it does fire up, it’s quick heat for small spaces. Not too sure about the run time on 1lb propane. Seems less than claimed and the base does not secure the propane bottle well. I love, love, love this heater. I spend a lot of time in my garage, and this small but mighty heater is my new favorite thing! The heat settings are perfect, as they accurately match the heat emitted! The relatively small amount of propane needed to operate the heater is a definite plus, especially when using a 20 lb. tank. I got through to technical support in about 1 minute, and after explaining the concern, the agent helped me through the issue and solved the problem in about 1 minute.
