If you are into Somatic yoga, or just simply experiencing stress, use this product for sandbag breathing. You can Google it and read the benefits it provides. I just place the bag on my abdomen right below my navel. The weight keeps you focused on your breath and feels very calming. The only "problem " I have had is that it relaxes me so much that I have fallen asleep with the bag in place. 🙄 Probably not a good idea, but a real testimony to the relaxation element, since I have often had insomnia issues. I use my bag in the morning and at night. I also use it on my abdomen during shavasana in class. It feels good to place on your lower back during child's pose. You can deepen your reclined twist by placing one on your top hip, but this must be done with care if you have lower back issues. Maybe a second bag with half the sand would be good for this use. If you do yoga, I believe this product will enhance your experience. ... show more

This yoga sand bag is made of thick color-set burlap with a completely removable thin nylon inner bag, and a carrying strap made of nylon webbing. All the materials are good quality. I was very pleased with my purchase until… …a seam came apart on the burlap bag (the only one I needed to wash) the first time I needed to wash it. This caused me to examine the product closer. I discovered that none of the seams were finished, even though some edges appeared to be durable rolled edges. Instead of using a tiny bit more material and taking a tiny bit more time, they had only folded the edge over and sewn as close as possible to the outside dimensions of the bag. This caused the seams to fray on the inside, leading the one seam to come apart. There is no way to avoid this from happening in the future. The frayed seams inside lead to the zipper catching on those frayed threads as it is closed, making cleanly zipping the bag shut cumbersome and problematic. The only remedy is to disassemble the bag and sew the seams correctly. Because of the already frayed edges, this will make a much smaller bag. I would gladly have paid more for a more professionally sewn bag. Luckily, I needed to wash the bag soon after beginning to use it or I might have been too late to request reparations of any kind. I plan on asking Amazon for a refund. ... show more

The outside bag is well made and sturdy but the inside liner is kind of thin and not made as well as the outer bag. Even though it says liner water proof, in my opinion I would not chance getting the liner wet. Overall, I’d recommend. 👍🏼

Understand this is traditionally used for yoga. BUT...I needed something a little heavy and sturdy to leave on my front porch chairs to keep them from blowing away in the wind. I leave for work very early in the morning and often times we'll get wind from a pop up storm, where I'm concerned about my chairs being blown all over the neighborhood. This took care of that! I filled the inner bag with regular playground sand and it's working fabulously! They've been wet (and covered in pollen) but they dry out and look great. Thinking of getting 2 more for chairs in the backyard. UPDATE: Have had these for several months and while they are serving it's purpose of keeping the chairs from blowing over the neighborhood, they have faded nearly 90%. I purchased the navy blue color and they are nearly grayish/white. Doesn't matter to me, I'm still using them. But direct sunlight significantly fade the color. ... show more

The bag materials are quality but how the bag is made is not. On my first bag, the strap broke immediately when I added sand. A replacement was ordered. I choose to use my sewing machine to add reinforcement stitching around the bag, especially around the handle. When I finished, I noticed fraying around the zipper. Unfortunately, there isn't enough fabric around the zipper, and the zipper already has started to separate from the fabric. I tried adding some reinforcement stitching but there isn't alot of room to do so. Since I already added the reinforcement stitching, I will keep this bag and hope for the best. Purchase this only if you are willing to inspect all stitching carefully AND add reinforcement to the handle at the very least. I'm giving this two stars because the materials used for this bag are sturdy. ... show more
