I was searching for a thick, cushiony, yoga mat FOREVER when I finally landed on the Amazon Basic one. I love the pretty pink color, and for any 10$ (on prime day) it’s a steal for the quality mat you get. I know there’s yoga mats that cost 20$+ and aren’t as good quality as this. There’s a more ribbed side (for exercising on) and a smooth side which actually grips the floor really well. I like the strap that is comes with to carry on the go, and the thickness of this mat is a 10/10 (main reason for my five stars). The thickness makes doing any exercise on it SUPER comfortable, even on top of a hard gym floor, and it’s more than long enough for me (for reference I’m 5’2” [just as in the photo^]). Also, the actual width of the yoga mat is nice but might be inadequate for someone who is bigger or taller, depending on what it will be used for. It’s also comfy enough that my dog likes to lay on it. Still don’t know about the long term quality, but it seems as though it will hold up just fine. I have traditionally used a thinner mat, which was fine when we had carpet floors. When installed hard laminate flooring, I suddenly found that mat way too uncomfortable and not affording enough cushion. I felt like my spine was directly on the hard floor. So I went searching for a thicker mat on Amazon. I found this Amazon Elements mat, which seemed like a good value for the money, and gave it a try. The mat is the perfect thickness, at exactly 1/2", offering cushion and support but not sacrificing performance. The extra thickness doesn't prevent the mat from being rolled up and stored. This is a wonderful workout matt! It's a lot thicker than normal yoga matts. Which is nice because my knees are sensitive. The carrier makes it super easy to just roll it up and carry it with you. Love how many colors they have! My husband and I both got one. Super durable too!
