This paddle comes with both a carrying bag and a nice neoprene cover, while most competitors come with one or the other. The bag isn't big enough to carry much else except maybe a few balls, sweat bands, and your safety glasses but not big enough for a water bottle. It also comes with a smooth non-tacky grip tape to replace or cover the stock grip that has firm ridges. The 8.09 oz. paddle has a smooth 10.6mm face. It is a classic 15 3/4" by 7 7/8" with a 4 1/2" handle measuring 4 3/8" around its oval grip. It produces moderate noise and has a moderate but unforgiving sweet spot. This gives the paddle good power and ok control, but only if you hit the ball just right. I wasn't able to generate any significant spin at all. I would not recommend this paddle to beginners because of the unforgiving nature of the sweet spot. Performance drops off drastically even an inch or two from the center, and beginners would be better served by a paddle that maintains at least some performance toward the edges. At the same time, I wouldn't recommend this paddle for intermediate to advanced players because they'll want more subtle features like better control and spin. To quote Randy Jackson, "It's a 'no' from me." On the plus side, this paddle IS USAPA APPROVED. This means you can use this paddle in sanctioned tournaments.
