I am using this scope on an Air Venturi Avenger in .22 caliber. I chose it for 4 main reasons. First- Hawke's reputation for quality scopes Second- parallax focus down to 10 yards Third- the 50mm objective lets in a lot of light Fourth- the illuminated reticle All these add up to a very good scope for daytime and low light conditions. Plus the image is quite sharp across the entire field of view. An added plus is that the parallax adjustment seems accurate. Unlike my other scopes when focused at 25 yards the parallax dial actually reads 25 yards. If I have any complaint it would be that the elevation and windage dials, while tool-free do require you to unscrew the caps. I knew that going in so I can't complain too much. All-in-all I think this is a good scope at this price point. ... show more

Clean clear crisp just say dang this scope surprises me if I had the need I'd buy another one no doubt about it. Basically doubled the range that I felt was reasonably good % of hitting the target .. to Basically increase my accuracy to this point impresses me an my friends ...I've tried many other scope brands an these are built well. An for the 17hmr this is the best. Ive tried other brand on 17s an they work ok including the sweet 17 .. this one is a bit more on cost than the others for a 17 hmr but has more features an just seems to perform well ... show more

I haven't field tested it yet. It doesn't seem as sturdy as my other scopes. Very light weight. we will see soon if it holds up to the firing and holds its accuracy.

    • AO Scope ring *TWANGS* like a spring air rifle when fired… get a UTG

So first let me say I think this is a quality scope. I have this mounted to my Gamo Fusion Mach 1 air rifle in .22 and it works well. However, it has one issue that seems to be directly correlated with Hawke scopes. It makes a *twang* sound when I fire it… almost sounds like an old spring air rifle. It’s the AO (Adjustable Objective) ring that’s making that noise. Apparently there is some type of spring in the AO ring that rattles when the rifle is fired. It has decent optics with smooth adjustable objective that is leaps and bounds better than the PINTY scopes I have. If you can get past that twang then it might work for you, but for the money I would have bought the UTG 1” True Hunter that costs less and has the as good (or better) optics and the same IR feature that can help with dusk/dawn shooting. Unfortunately, UTG was sold out and I looked everywhere. I’m keeping the scope I guess and just deal with the *twang* as it’s already mounted and zeroed. If it stays that way I’ll be happy. I was thinking of swapping scopes with my Hatsan 125 Vortex in .22 as well because I’ll probably use the Gamo more due to the lifter weight. But that says something right there in the fact that Hatsan 125 has the strongest recoil for a break barrel and the UTG has held zero with over 5000 (yes, five thousand) pellets through the pipe and the optics and reticle I think are better and more clear. This is not a comparison review so I won’t go there. BOTTOM LINE: Good scope, well built accept for the *TWANG* the AO scope ring makes. Yes, it’s the scope not the air rifle. Great value scope, extremely fast shipper. Hawke is a really underappreciated scope with a lot of feature for the money. The scope arrived two days after ordering in a well packed box. This is my third Hawke from this vendor and they never disappoint.

    • Mine was either broken or these are the worst optics ever made.

Mine arrived in a box that was actually packed fairly well but still not as well as you would like for an optic. Mounting was fine and boresighting was down for 50 yards and went fine. Range zeroing was HORRIFIC at best. After boresighting it wasn't even on the paper at 50 yds or at 25 yds while using a zeroing stand and table using 12"x18" zero targets. Finally getting it on paper and close to a zero at 15 yards l moved back to 25 yards and it wasn't on the paper again. Trying to get it dialed it at 25 yards took over 50 rounds and it was never consistent when adjusting. Once l finally moved back to 50 yards with a very questionable zero at 25 yards it wasn't on the paper yet again. After another 30 or 40 rounds I finally got it in to another questionable zero but at least having 3 rounds in the center ring. I wanted to shoot 5 more rounds to confirm it was still in the center ring and NOT ONE ROUND WAS ON THE PAPER!!! This brand is permanently on my NEVER PURCHASE AGAIN list. ... show more
