The media could not be loaded. Getting this alarm clock was life changing! I know it sounds dramatic, but this Hatch alarm clock is incredible! What initially piqued my interest in Hatch was the way it gradually and softly wakes you up with the sunrise alarm. It’s such a peaceful way to wake up compared to my abrupt phone alarm. It works by playing a sound of your choice at a volume that slowly increases (mine has peaceful music & birds chirping, so cute). As the sound plays, there is a light that also slowly increases in brightness. You can customize the sound and light! Although I was originally interested in Hatch as an alarm clock, what I reeeaaally fell in love with were all of the features for going to bed! You have the option to set an “unwind routine” which essentially just means your Hatch will light up & start playing a sound of your choice at a specific time to give you a cue that it’s time to unwind and start going to bed. You can even pair this with a notification on your phone. If you don’t like that, it’s optional (: There are SO many sounds you can choose from for your nighttime and morning routines and they are always adding new sounds. I think this really sets them apart from any other fancy alarm clock brand - it feels like an unlimited amount of options and they’re all unique and great quality. Way more extensive than a simple rain sound or something like that (although they have those too). Aside from the seamless functionality of the Hatch alarm clock, it looks great and I feel like it can easily fit with several interior aesthetics. After having the hatch for a month I’m happy to say it’s worth the hype. I haven’t subscribed but use the free sounds and it works great. Even on the lowest setting the sound is definitely loud enough to hear and easy to control on the app. The clock is chic and fits nicely on my dresser. I bought the “latte” color. I’m trying to become a morning person. Not working out too well, but I imagine I’ll need to undo lifelong habits to truly wake up naturally before sunrise. Having said that, I really appreciate this clock’s gradual waking process, and the numerous customizable sleeping sounds and lights. Even with the free version, there are plenty of options. Right now I’m not relying on the lighting feature because I sleep with a sleep mask, but when the alarm goes off and I have to turn it off and remove the mask, it is definitely bright! You have A TON more features if you sign up for their plan, including bedtime stories, meditation, even more sounds to choose from, etc., but I think it’s overkill for what I need. Maybe in the future I’ll check it out. I do like that I get reminders on my phone that it’s time to start winding down. This encourages me to start weaning off the screen time and keep a routine. Also, I cannot sleep without VERY LOUD white noise, and this is PERFECT. You can customize the volume, so I go to sleep with a thunder/rain storm at max volume, then after a few hours (hopefully by the time I’ve fallen asleep), I’ve customized it to gradually decrease in volume until my alarm starts gradually waking me up about 8 hours later. That’s probably my favorite feature, how much customization you can do even with the free version. Lastly, the minimalist aesthetic is nice and it matches my decor well. I do recommend it, though it is expensive for an alarm clock and the optional monthly plan would add to that expense. But if you struggle with falling asleep and/or have a hard time waking up before sunrise (or in general!) and/or you hate sudden loud alarms and/or you want lots of sleep and alarm sounds to choose from, THIS is the alarm clock for you! If you’re just looking for something simple with minimal features and don’t care about the aesthetic, you can probably find something cheaper. LASTLY, this clock is reliant on its power cord. If your power goes out while you’re asleep and doesn’t turn back on, you’re on your own!
