The media could not be loaded. Don’t let the subscription deter you, this alarm clock is completely usable without it. The monthly subscription is mainly for more sounds and bedtime stories, plus 2 added steps to your sleep/wake routine which are ‘Unwind’ and ‘Morning Moment’. I’d suggest setting up some routines while on the free version, to get the feel of it first; then get the free trial and immediately cancel, so you don’t get charged but can try it out for a month. If you realize that you like the subscription version more than the free: the monthly price is $5 totaling to $60 a year, and the yearly subscription is $50. I can naturally wake up to the morning sun, but have to get up for work before the sun comes out so I opted for a sunrise clock due to phone alarm issues. Hatch claims this alarm is science-backed in lulling you to sleep but also waking you up gradually and peacefully. I can for sure say this was the first morning I have not woken up to a jarringly loud alarm then jumping out of bed after realizing I snoozed all 10 of my alarms. The sunrise feature is super customizable, you can have the dim clock go super bright within 5 minutes or up to an hour. There’s 12 sunrises and 13 alarm sounds to choose from without a subscription. There’s also 28 different sleep sounds for free! I chose brown noise since it’s a more gentle sound than white noise and it definitely helped me stay asleep the entire night, whereas before; I’d wake up numerous times every night then feel super tired/groggy until mid afternoon. The biggest issue for this clock is that it relies on a constant and good WiFi connection. If you live in a small town like me where if one cell tower goes down, you’re stuck without WiFi and no alarm clock. I got the Putty color option, it’s definitely a lighter tan with a hint of pink. The video I included shows the Brown Noise sleep sound and the light color Evening Sun. There are instructions that come with the clock that tell you where to touch for adjusting the volume and light, how the two Rest/Rise buttons at the top work, and how to set up the clock within the app. It took about 10 minutes for my clock to connect and register to the app, so don’t be worried if it takes awhile for you. Upon opening this alarm clock, I’d recommend placing the box upright and pulling the top of the box off, so the clock stays in the bottom of the box and doesn’t fly out (like iPhone boxes). Not only is this an aesthetic clock, but it’s also a sound machine, an alarm, and a curated sunrise. The ability to have a different alarm schedule is a huge bonus as well, especially if you have a differing morning routine depending on the day. The media could not be loaded. Getting this alarm clock was life changing! I know it sounds dramatic, but this Hatch alarm clock is incredible! What initially piqued my interest in Hatch was the way it gradually and softly wakes you up with the sunrise alarm. It’s such a peaceful way to wake up compared to my abrupt phone alarm. It works by playing a sound of your choice at a volume that slowly increases (mine has peaceful music & birds chirping, so cute). As the sound plays, there is a light that also slowly increases in brightness. You can customize the sound and light! Although I was originally interested in Hatch as an alarm clock, what I reeeaaally fell in love with were all of the features for going to bed! You have the option to set an “unwind routine” which essentially just means your Hatch will light up & start playing a sound of your choice at a specific time to give you a cue that it’s time to unwind and start going to bed. You can even pair this with a notification on your phone. If you don’t like that, it’s optional (: There are SO many sounds you can choose from for your nighttime and morning routines and they are always adding new sounds. I think this really sets them apart from any other fancy alarm clock brand - it feels like an unlimited amount of options and they’re all unique and great quality. Way more extensive than a simple rain sound or something like that (although they have those too). Aside from the seamless functionality of the Hatch alarm clock, it looks great and I feel like it can easily fit with several interior aesthetics.
