  • Love it!
This is the only way I make coffee anymore. It creates the perfect taste for me, takes up little space, is portable and made from glass, not plastic. The plastic holder does not come into contact with the coffee. I clean mine by hand but it can also go in the dishwasher. It is not a fragile glass so breakage has never been an issue in the 10 years I've been using them. I put in a natural paper filter, set it on my cup, bring the water to a boil then cool it down a few seconds and pour over my desired amount of coffee. Luscious. ... show more

  • Base is not large enough for larger mugs
I have a ceramic V60 and now this glass V60 as well. Both have bases made to sit atop smaller mugs... and neither works well when trying to make a cup atop a larger mug. This glass V60 has an unimpressive white plastic base (removable) which is especially difficult to use on larger mugs. I fail to understand why they make their bases so small since if their bases were larger they would STILL work on small cups but also larger mugs. But I absolutely love the V60 for brewing my pourover and will build an adapter plate for this (like I did for the ceramic one) because pourover and Hario V60 just go together like hand in glove. ... show more

  • Oh yeah! Fabulous coffee
This rocked my world. Well, as much as a great cup of coffee can, it did. I have had it with bad coffee. I didn't drink coffee at all until recently, and after a series of sickeningly bad coffeemakers, I finally discovered this brilliantly simple method of making a great cup of coffee. I can't even find a good cup of coffee in restaurants around here. This solved the problem. I don't need more than a cup or two a day of coffee, and I'm not going to drink any coffee at all unless it tastes fantastic. This does. I simply boil a cup of filtered water in the microwave and pour it through this, which I have put a Hario filter into. And voila, perfectly delicious coffee. You don't really need a special kettle to boil the water unless you want to get fancy, which isn't necessary to get great results. Just get that water boiling, get your coffee beans finely and freshly ground, and slowly and gently pour the water into this. This has all the flavorful goodness of expresso without the harshness or impact. This is just super for people who only need to make one perfect cup of coffee at a time. ... show more

  • Hario V60 in glass.
Hario makes a very nice system for brewing coffee. The glass V60 is pretty. The plastic works well too but the glass V60 is what made Hario special. You may need more than just the V60 like paper filters and a nice kettle to pour the water as well as a pot. Good coffee helps too. If you have a 16oz cup you can make 280ml with 25g and have one nice cup. Over dosed under extracted tastes best 2:19 is a good time to brew in If you have a nice fresh roast and grind the bloom from the gasses being released is amazing. If the coffee does not produce a nice full bloom it was old. It takes a bit of info to use it correctly but the information is out there. As I said in an other review I roast my own coffee and if I want to realy taste how I did or how good the coffee is the Hario V60 is one of the best ways to do it. French press makes a coffee with full body but the pour over makes a coffee with fine taste. The V60 looks nice too sitting on the shelf and you can double one serving and make enough for a couple of people in one shot. ... show more

  • Coffee Zen and Mindfullness
This is the coffee dripper that most professional baristas use. If you really want to have complete control of the brewing of your coffee, this is the Hario V60 is the dripper to use. I have a Melitta dripper as well and I still use it, but the Hario is now my favorite. There are plenty of videos on YouTube on the technique of brewing coffee with the Hario V60, so I will not waste time describing it here. I also have the Hario scale to use with this dripper, so there is real mindfulness in this method. You need to pour carefully, watch the weight of water you are adding and watch your time as well. This takes practice! I brew a 12 oz. mug (two 6 oz. cups of coffee) each morning using the Hario. Once you get the technique down, this will produce a wonderful, full-bodied and flavorful cup of coffee. If you are serious about doing pour-over coffee, this is the dripper to get. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Awesome except for plastic holder
You should really see this product in a video to understand what a quality item this is. I bought straight from amazon to prevent any fakes but it's a very solid piece. You get the hario packaging which has a nice insert with japanese and english instruction manual. There's a sticker on the glass dripper and one underneath the plastic holder. In general a very solid glass coffee dripper which will probably last longer than your lifetime. The negative one star is because the plastic holder is kinda dumb. If you look at the picture you can see it slightly hangs beneath the glass... even though the glass is pretty thick; when the coffee is slow dripping it will edge and drip from the plastic piece which defeats my purpose of buying the glass dripper. Fortunately the v2 can do 1-4 cups and perfectly fits my carafe without the user of the plastic holder. ... show more

  • Perfect replacement for regular coffee makers with flood of plastics, if you care
The dripper is a perfect choice for those who want quick serving of coffee for themselves. Also made of glass, it adds value to those who care about excessive exposure to all chemiclas coming from plastics that are so common nowadays. One thing I'd like to point out is that regular size 02 filter won't fit perfectly as the dripper is of cone shape. In other words, the filter does not sit in to the bottom of the dripper because they don't exactly match each other. At times, it will cause the bottom of the filter to rupture, which is a complete mess. A remedy I found working is that I moisten the filter before placing into dripper and gently push down the bottoom with something like a spoon. This removes extra space between filter and dripper and helps relieving pressure that the filter has to withstand. This is not a kind of fault for which I can blame this dripper, so I'd still give 5/5. ... show more
