I wore acrylics for over 2 consecutive years and my nails started to go so thin that getting them done was painful. They couldn’t break just folded! Horrible. So I stopped, thinking than just letting it be for a year will make them go back the way it was (dumb I know). Well once I realized that it did work, I started to look for products that would help and I came across this one. And JEEZ it truly works. I have been using it for a year now and girls the nails are strong, healthy, and beautiful. This cream melts into your nails! And after 5 min it dries! So no grease. It also doesn’t have a strong or unpleasant smell neither. I put it every night before going to bed and wake up with stronger nails :) I wear mine short by preference but I gotta cut them every week to keep like that. So they grow fast and strong! Oh my heavens. I’d like to open by saying I know nothing about nails, and until recently I didn’t even own nail polish. Out of nowhere, I took an interest in nails. I read that through proper treatment, manicures might actually strengthen your nails, and after one too many nails painfully breaking in the normal wear-and-tear of life, I decided to give nail-dipping a try. That was sort of like a gateway drug. After that, I got very excited about acrylic nails, then gel nails, and everything in between. Which means I also got super stoked about nail filing, buffing, and drill bits for one of those electric nail file things. To be clear, I’m an ADHD tomboy artist, rapidly approaching 30, who has no idea what she’s doing. If you’re someone who understands nails and all manicure-related subjects, then it won’t come as a surprise that I totally destroyed my nails. They felt raw. Like they’d just gone through a meat grinder. I ordered a jar of this stuff (plus other stuff that looked like it might help). My nails and fingertips started falling apart before Christmas. Lotion helped my hands, not my nails: brittle, flaking, cracking, breaking. I had heard of this product years before then forgot what I didn’t need. When I spotted it and investigated a little, it fit my needs. I do not like oils; this is more like a balm or salve. It has a pleasant aroma. It started working immediately. After the first application on Friday night, by Monday, my nails stopped cracking and peeling and flaking. A week later, I used it again, and more nails improved. Once a week, at night, massaged all over and around nails and cuticles, including behind the nail where it separates from my finger. Each time I do it, I see improvement. Leave it on for an hour then wash my hands and head to bed. Simple, effective, pleasant. Inexpensive. The mark of a great product. ... show more

Seriously blown away by this. I have hypothyroidism and even with medication my nails are always thin, flimsy, slow growing, and brittle. I’ve never been able to grow them long in my life and I’ve always wanted natural, long nails because I hate the feeling of all the types of fake nails. (Also hate the cost of having to get and upkeep them). I used this cream directly on my nails and right on/at the base of the cuticle every night before bed for maybe a week and I instantly saw my nails grow fast AND they haven’t been breaking, tearing, anything like that. This product is a complete game changer. I got the coconut one and the scent is nice. It actually does absorb into the nails quickly, (especially considering I kind of slather it on heavy lol) but I use it before I go to sleep because I don’t like the feeling of hand lotions, etc. I’ll keep buying it as long as they keep making it because it’s the only nail growth/strengthener product I’ve ever tried that has actually worked, and worked QUICK, and I’ve tried a ton. Great scent, not overpowering. I thought when it arrives that it would be gone fast due to the small jar size, but it's not a typical lotion consistency. It's a hard paste, but it's slick. Just run your finger on top of the jar contents and it transfers easily for you to run your circles and nail area. I'll be purchasing again in the future. I also purchased this to help aide in growth and nail health after removing my artificial nails, so I knew the growth time would be more than normal, due to having to grow the damaged nail out.     • Miracle balm!
After a disastrous peel and stick manicure removal (I didn’t read the instructions and peeled them off without oil) I have spent 2 years trying to fix my flaky nails. They looked awful and I tried everything including collagen and biotin pills. I finally found Hard as Hoof and have used it religiously for three months and finally! The damage is repaired and I have my strong nails back. I reapply it every time I wash my hands, I have one at work, in my gym bag, upstairs in my house and downstairs too.
