I, like others, looked and looked for the old formula and could not find it 😭 and I was hesitant at first to buy this one but i said what the heck and bought it. Honestly I really like it. I just received it today and applied it for the first time. frankly, it applied just as well as the old formula. The pictures I shared show my nails after applying the new formula for the first time. I applied 2 coats. Now I can’t speak to how good (or not) it’ll work on strengthening my nails but I’ll try it for two weeks then come back and update my review. This product works so well if you follow the directions. If you leave it on your nails for weeks, letting it chip off...you will have the before picture on your nails. My nails looked amazing! I left them to be amazing...and just forgot about it. After 2 months, my nails are shredded. Good news is, I have this stuff. I just need to follow directions. ... show more

If you have been a part of the “Original Formula OPI Nail Envy Cult” for YEARS like I have, you were dismayed, perhaps even heartbroken about the formula changing. Yes… I may have cried when I learned that they discontinued it, but that’s between you and I, dear reader. I’ve done hours of research and I’ve been trying this new formula for a few months now, and I’m here to save you your own tears and hours of research… Yes, it’s true. It’s not the unbelievable magical miracle fixer that the previous formula was. HOWEVER, after trying several other brands, I’ve decided to stay loyal to OPI Nail Envy because of two reasons- 1) The reason they changed the formula was to take out the formaldehyde which I am both ethically aligned with, and my research shows that it does have merit regarding improving long-term health over the course of your life. 2) When tested against other nail strengthening treatments, it still holds up as a top contender! I tested the ‘top five’ rated other nail strengthening treatment polishes on Amazon and I still vote this as the winner. In all honesty, I can’t clean with bleach without gloves or bash my nails into stuff and get away with still having long, beautiful nails (like I used to with the original formula) but this new formula still addresses the major nail issues we’re all here for: breaking, cracking, peeling, and generally weak claws. Long story short, buying the legit formula here is better than looking for the original elsewhere, I’ve tried buying the original formula from eBay, re-sellers, and other locations and can ATTEST through thorough research and examination that buying the new formula from THIS Amazon seller is the best way to go. (you do NOT want to put some fake chemical ridden fake dupe ‘original formula’ on nails that are already in need of help because it will just destroy them!) listen to your wise internet auntie on this one ;) Long story short, go for it. Use the directions and reapply every few days or twice a week. Consistency is key! You’ll see improved strength, growth, and reduced peeling. I was prepared to hate this new formula, but I can’t argue with a nail treatment that WORKS for someone who was simply not “born with it” in the claw dept. I rarely write product reviews but I feel compelled to explain why this is a great product. I am an older man who has struggled with fingernail biting my entire life. OPI Nail Envy really helps! 1. It is true matte with a barely noticeable shine. I am old fashioned and would never use a shiny polish. I have tried several other brands that claimed to be matte but they all had a little shine. 2. OPI Nail Envy not only strengthens my nails--it accelerates the healing of my cuticles and skin around my cuticles. 3. IMPORTANT: Be aware of the formula! This is Vegan formula. There is another formula, OPI Nail Envy Original Formula. I tried some and it triggered a severe allergic reaction on my cuticles and skin. Swelling, itchiness, and splits in the skin! Painful and unsightly! I switched back to the Vegan formula and it healed the skin quickly. I wish I had discovered this product 50 years ago. It would have prevented a lot of embarassment about my nails. ... show more

This nail strengthener works very well on shorter nails that would never get beyond the end of my finger. Very pretty, subtle first 2 layers, then becomes opaque after applying a layer a day for a week. Comes off cleanly with acetone free remover. Will buy again!

Absolutely love Opi nail polish. I’ve tried a lot of different brands and keep coming back to Opi. It usually lasts longer than some others, the colors are rich and cover most imperfections, not too thick and goes on very easily.
