I've been wearing OPI Nail Envy Strengthener for a week. It goes on smooth, and remains clear and glossy. The directions offer the option to apply a coat every day (if you wish). So, that's exactly what I did! For several days I applied a coat, and for the first time ever--the OPI Nil Envy Strengthener protected my nails. I can do dishes in hot sudsy water, and do regular household chores that would have previously resulted in brittle-broken or chipped nails. I was so excited to use this as my nails weren’t growing i followed directions and my nails were all growing out at the same tome! Then they started breaking off one by one. Now they are all at the same length.. I don’t even have nails! I’m going to try it again, because they were beautiful. Now I can’t even scratch an itch! ... show more

I’m not sure if it made my nails grow faster, as i’ve just recently been growing out my nails over the summer. It’s definitely made my nails stronger though, they don’t bend or chip practically at all anymore even when working. I like to use it as a base coat before color, or just apply the two coats when i’m in between nail polishes. It’s pretty expensive though, but i haven’t had to rebuy yet. ... show more

I'm older...my nails flake and peel so much I can hardly believe it. Two nails crack and split so much they catch on my clothing...doing wash...everywhere. It's awful and painful. I tried nail strengthener first, they helped a little. But this...this helped after the first application!! I rarely write product reviews but I feel compelled to explain why this is a great product. I am an older man who has struggled with fingernail biting my entire life. OPI Nail Envy really helps! 1. It is true matte with a barely noticeable shine. I am old fashioned and would never use a shiny polish. I have tried several other brands that claimed to be matte but they all had a little shine. 2. OPI Nail Envy not only strengthens my nails--it accelerates the healing of my cuticles and skin around my cuticles. 3. IMPORTANT: Be aware of the formula! This is Vegan formula. There is another formula, OPI Nail Envy Original Formula. I tried some and it triggered a severe allergic reaction on my cuticles and skin. Swelling, itchiness, and splits in the skin! Painful and unsightly! I switched back to the Vegan formula and it healed the skin quickly. I wish I had discovered this product 50 years ago. It would have prevented a lot of embarassment about my nails. ... show more

Caveat: I have paper thin nails where current length is the max before minor bending results in splitting / tearing. As a knitter and crocheter, this is the literal ‘nails on a chalkboard’ for yarn, so I’m always on the lookout for products to combat lifelong brittle nails. I’ve always loved OPI products and thought I’d give this a try when a Prime Day deal popped up. Followed directions to the letter on my left hand while trying OPI Repair Mode on the right for product comparison. Day 1: thought it was a little too thick during application but once it dried, seemed like very thin daily recoats might be okay if it wears a little before next coat. (It does not - at all) During day 3 application, I noticed there was enough buildup that I couldn’t keep it off my nail bed, which is the death trigger for all nail products. You can FEEL the nail protection it creates but it’s so thick it’s like gravity pulled the liquid into the valley between my nail bed and the previous applications where the lifting started. But alas, the peeling I was wary of began just before bedtime on day 3, two more had peeled before it was time for day 4’s application, so I thought well ‘better leave a review.’ And the last two were gone before I finished it. Maybe I’ll try it with polish since it’s only the single application and see if it works any better. It’s gotta stay ON to see if it actually works!! ... show more
