I use the cheap plastic finger nails, and have for many years. I found that the glue to hold the nails in place was damaging to my finger nails, so I started using the Hard As Nails prior to using the glue for the nails. I thought this would go on more pink, but it goes on very sheer, but has an opalescence quality to it that I like. The opalescence, or whatever term you'd prefer, was an unexpected surprise. I have tremors, so the nice thing about it being mostly sheer is that I can be less than perfect when applying the polish (especially on my toes). If you're expecting pink, you'll be disappointed. I was looking for a pearlescent top coat for my normal nude manicure. This is perfect! It's very sheer but adds pearl, shine, and even some purple/pink reflex in different lighting!
