My chickens love this bedding. I love it because it stays dry and dries out their poops. Keeps the smell down and it’s easy to turn. It last 6-9 mos and is worth the money.

This stuff is great. I can use a cat scooper to clean out the poop and it has zero dust and zero smell. I do a quick spot clean with the scooper every morning and it’s way easier to clean than straw. Keeps it odor free and dry. It’s a little smaller than pine or cedar flakes and it’s super easy to clean. I wasn’t sure if it would be any different for the coop, but it’s made a big difference. The straw I would fully clean every week and this stuff, with regular scooping, I bet would last a few months. So it’ll probably even out cost wise. My inside coop is 5x8 and I used maybe 1/3 of the bag at about 1-2” deep. ... show more

Not alot of material for the price but the material itself is really good. Used in a coop, it can become really good plant mulch afterwards as well. Lasts a while, would recommend trying, but it does not compact very well like some other materials so the volume at the price is decent but not great.

The first time I ordered this product it came in a vacuum packed plastic. Very compressed. I had to dig it apart. The pieces of hemp were a larger size which was perfect for my rats. Easy to remove poopies. The second time I ordered the product it came in an un-vacuumed plastic bag and was much finer. Im sure it will work the same but I was so looking forward to the same size product as the first time. I had tried a finer product the first time I ordered from another company and it was ok so I was glad when my first happy trees order came. I thought I'd stumbled into the perfect product for bedding. I will keep using a hemp product however I'm going to be looking for one that has the bigger pieces.
