This is a good little handheld anemometer. It is easy to use. It comes with batteries so it's ready right out of the box. I compared it's speed to my weather station and they were within .1 mph of each other, so it is accurate. I don't like that it takes disposable batteries instead of installed and rechargeable. These things can cost quite a bit of money won't take you too much looking around on the Internet to figure that out, so I have one that's functional like this for this price is to me and no-brainer for someone who's just getting into something where you need to read the wind like princess long-distance shooting or I don't know whatever else you might need this for. I live on the seashore in a community with an active bunch of kite flyers, and we even have kite festival twice a year. I’ve always been able to tell when the wind is calm or medium or high, but having this along, in my pocket, enables me to learn what light medium and heavy actually quantify to be. Ability to better plan which kites to take or which ones to leave, since kites abilities, very based on the design and the strength, is extremely useful. I can’t judge the battery life yet because I haven’t run out, but I’ll keep watching us and see how it goes ... show more
