I needed something that could drill holes in concrete. I really didn't need a professional tool that costs hundreds, just something to do simple jobs maybe every six months. I had my job done in 20 min. vs the two hours with a regular drill. As someone wrote in another review the mason drill that came with it is trash. It didn't even make it through the first hole before the blades were worn to nothing. You need to buy a drill that costs almost as much as this drill itself, but you will finish your job. This is one of the tools I don’t have. I needed one for a quick project at the house, and while I am trying to slowly build up my tool set, this is one I wasn’t ready to drop a big chunk on just yet. Some of the reviews had me on edge but I figured for the price, worst case is I end up going to rent one. I was pleasantly surprised with it. The bits that came with it are not good bits at all, so please make sure to have your own. But when I used my own bits, this thing worked great. No issues with it breaking or smoking, so far it’s working great. ... show more

    • This thing really works
I needed two holes 1/2" x 1-1/4" in an apron to the garage door, solid cement. I tried two conventional drills for about 15 minutes and got the holes down about the depth of the tip of the bit, less than a 1/4". And I don't know why, but the vibration kept loosening the chuck and the bit would fall out. I could see that I was looking at the better part of a day, if it worked at all, to drill these holes. I did not have high expectations for an under $30 hammer drill but then I thought, what if it worked? With the same bit I had been using, I drilled each hole with this thing in about a minute each. Done. The hammer definitely works. I'm impressed. Can't speak to longevity but out of the box, I'm impressed. ... show more
