UPDATE: Downgraded from 3 stars to 1 star. For two weekends in a row, Halo decided my dog was outside the boundary and issued Emergency Feedback so much it wounded my dog. I was running outside looking for her in the area the map said she was…. she was in her play area. I immediately took her collar off and it continued its assault. You will see in the photo of the Map where my Blue dot and Everest are. Bowie was right next to us as it continued to issue Emergency Feedback. Unfortunately, I have a stubborn Alpha girl and she needs “Emergency” to be Static 15… i’ve tried all other options and levels and she didn’t respond… I also feel the Feedback levels are inconsistent. Today, both of my girls got out TWICE. It was issuing feedback, but even my skittish girl was unphased… they got into my neighbors yard who happens to be terrified of dogs. I am wondering why I am paying $1,200 plus the monthly membership to worry about their safety and abuse from this collar. I plan to hold them to their 60 day satisfaction and say no more. ————— When the collar does work or isn’t dying, it keeps my dogs safe. The battery does not last 20 hours. I am lucky if I get 12 hours. Yesterday, for example, my girls somehow got out of the boundary. They would not return for hours despite the collar constantly doing “emergency”. Nothing worked. One of their collars died and I was frantically trying to get her before I could no longer locate her. It malfunctions a lot. Sometimes I will be right by my dogs and their collar will start giving them feedback. This will be no where near the boundaries and they start freaking out. This happens several times a week. Boundaries are not reliable. I’ve tried using the fences at dog beach and in Mammoth. While on mammoth, despite being connected to wifi and cellular, one of my girls bolted out of the yard and almost got hit by a car. We were staying on a street near the largest ski resort, it was devastating. Then at dog beach, one of their collars would not connect, while the other one did. Both were on, and clearly where was a connection since one did. I spent most of our time troubleshooting it. It was pointless because the collar that did connect decided not to enforce the boundary and she ran out of the dog section. I had to chase her and despite the app showing she was out of the fence and claiming feedback, it was not. For $1,200, I would expect peace of mind. Instead, I am constantly worrying if it will malfunction and lose them or if the battery will randomly die. Unless you have an older, sedentary dog, it’s probably not worth the risk and price. ... show more

Meet Pixie- a 9month old mini Bernese. The Halo collar has been instrumental with our training. Pixie lives on a Christmas tree farm and has 40 acres she can peruse. Installing a fence to keep her in our yard was not an option. We also looked at investing thousands of dollars in to a trainer to help with off leash training and using an e-collar. However- we wanted more options to ensure her safety. As my husband and I were researching possible options to train and keep her in our yard, Halo became the obvious option for her. Knowing that Cesar Milan is an owner in the company and dog trainer with the collar, we knew we could trust this product. His focus and dedication to well behaved and happy dogs is fundamental to his training. We align with his philosophy. We love the collar! It was easy to follow the tutorial videos and train her. Additionally, we love that there is a GPS built in to the collar that tracks her whereabouts. I feel comfortable and confident knowing she will be safe at all times and I can easily call her home with the use of the app. We work at various locations on our property since our tree farm spans acres. We love that you can add many fences on the app so it restricts her whereabouts to our location. I love that she comes along with us and is truly part of our family. Eventually we would love to train her to help pull Christmas trees for customers- maybe Halo can help with this. My only complaint which is not a Halo issue is that if your internet is spotty- it will impact the availability of your app. Overall, we are ecstatic customers of the Halo app. The initial setup was easy, as well as the training videos. It takes time to train yourself and your dog. But the investment is well worth it to keep your pup safe, and of course, happy. ... show more
