It all depends on how you create art versus others whether or not you like this paper. I felt it was very easy to take off the block. I liked the thickness. 200 lbs feels about right. I had very good movement of both paint and water on this pad. I felt that my colors were not as brilliant as is typical of bright white paper. I personally did not mind in this circumstance. Things I think other artists might want to know. The paint does not lift well off of the paper. The paper worked fine with frisked, as long as the paper is completely dry there was no problem removing the masking no fluid. I did take a sheet off of the block and painted it on a board, I taped down the sides. When I removed blue painter’s tape from the paper, the paper peeled and ripped. ... show more

I have been an Arches user for years and this year I decided to try out some of the new papers. This is a very good CP paper. In comparison to the Arches CP, this has a smoother texture, which i really liked. The only personal con for me is that I didn't find it as durable as the Arches (as for lifting) and seemed a bit more absorbent. But still a very good paper, good quality and worth its price. Beautiful paper. I did a project on one side with loads of water, did not like where it was going, so I turned it over and did another project and I loved the result. This paper went through a lot of abuse by me. Watercolor, ink, polychromos, prismacolor, scrubbing, blending...etc. This was only the first sheet from the pad that I used. I am getting ready for another project on another sheet from this pad. The paper almost feels like board and I love it. It's still flexible, but sturdy! The painting below is the one from the first sheet off this pad. I had used both sides and put it through a lot of abuse. It stood up well! ... show more

This is a great paper and a great price! First, at 200# paper and blocked, it's thicker and buckles less. I'd say it's a bit smoother than Arches cold press (not quite hot press) but the colors lift more easily when you're dabbing something out. It didn't hold up too well using a Mr. Clean eraser, it pilled. But I had used an opaque color. It does take longer to get it since it's coming from England but worth the wait. ... show more

I love this pad! I was using Strathmore 300 gsm paper block before this one with that uniform speckled texture. Obviously the Hahnemuhle is much thicker and brighter. I love the texture with this paper, like a subtle marble. I also erased a lot when preparing my sketch and you couldn't even tell. The block is tightly glued, by the way, and there's absolutely no buckling. In other words, amazing paper! ... show more
