  • 3.5 year old loves it
We got this game because our oldest was starting to show interest in board games and she loves unicorns. It was simple enough for her to learn, and her little sister (18 months when we bought it) could play along if we helped. It does have small parts so be cautious of that, both for kids small enough to pop it in their mouths, and because kids love to lose board game pieces. We keep it up where they can't reach it and help them play when they want to. Cute game for learning to play board games. ... show more

  • Glittery Fabulous
This is a great little game that is quick to play. It is also differentiated so that if you have littles that can't count very well, they can use the chart on the back to lay out their gems and see who got the most. This has a LOT of small gem pieces, so we use a make-up bag to store them in the box so they don't spray all over when my 5yo daughter opens the box. We use the lid to roll dice so they stay on the table. ... show more

  • Fun, simple game for kids, well-made
My kids all get a new game every Christmas and my 6-year old loves Unicorns and I love Haba, so I saw this and bought it right away. The object of the game is to go along the clouds, collecting as many jewels as you can. The unicorn with the most jewels at the end of the game wins. Simple concept...my 4- and 6-year old girls love it, and even my 8-year old son will play it. There are 4 different colors of unicorns...pink, a golden yellow, purple, and a pretty turquoise, all made from wood and are nice and thick, as you would expect from Haba wood. The jewels are a heavier plastic and oddly shaped, so they don't roll, which is nice. It comes with two chunky dice, one blue one with clouds, and one pink one with jewels. The board is a really thick cardboard, like a Melissa and Doug giant puzzle. It comes in three pieces that fit together like a puzzle...one side is the game board and the other side is used to line up your jewels at the end to see who wins. You will roll the cloud die and get a cupcake/muffin, which is a nice way of saying you lose a turn, or you will move 1, 2, or 3 spaces. If you land on an empty cloud, you do nothing. If you land on a cloud at the end of a rainbow, you get to slide over the rainbow. If you land on a gift you give a jewel to another player. And if you land on a cloud with a jewel, you will roll the pink jewel die and collect that many jewels (3 ones, 2 twos, and 1 three). First player to make it to the end gets a bonus of 4 extra jewels and then you wait for the other players to finish. Once everyone has finished you will flip the board over and line up your jewels next to your unicorn. This is a nice touch, as it gives younger kids a nice visual to see who won (who has the longest row of jewels) plus it's more fun that just counting them. :) Overall a very nice little game. I think it will last a long time and my girls will get lots of use out of it. It's nice and quick...is played in about 10 minutes or so, so that's a nice option for shorter attention spans and younger children. My only complaint is the game board is really small and it gets VERY crowded, so I took off a star. You can barely fit one unicorn per cloud, much less 3 or 4 if you have that many players. While I appreciate it that it makes for a more compact game, it makes it really hard when you're playing. I would still buy it again or give it as a gift, though. :) ... show more

  • A sparkly good time!
We played this for this first time yesterday with our 2.5 year old, and really liked it for a number of reasons. It was great for practicing turn-taking. She loved the pink crystals and was super excited whenever she got one (or two or three!). However, it was great for practicing patience, because she didn't get a crystal every time. We also liked the element of sharing that was involved when she landed on a present and had to choose whether to give a crystal to mom or dad...at first she wanted to keep the crystal for herself and not share, but she eventually chose to give crystals to both of us. She loved this game and wanted to play again and again. She also loves Candyland, but this had a lot more going on and we felt it was more helpful for practicing social skills we're trying to encourage. Updated to say that this game has gotten sooo much play in our house. My now 5 and 3 year old love it so much. I am tired of it, but they are not. ... show more

  • Highly recommend this game!
This game is perfect for a first board game! Our daughter is 4 and absolutely LOVES this game! Not only does it encourage learning colors, fine motor skills, sharing, taking turns, but counting too. And my favorite part is if your child is not quite a master of counting, then you flip the board game over and it has graph-type clouds on it to help them see who wins with the most gems. ... show more

  • Great game for small children
Wonderful game! My toddler loves to play and now teach others how to play. Haba games are a great investment I think. The pieces are sturdy and will last a long time. It is so fun to play with her and know she is learning and having fun at the same time.

  • My daughter loved it
My daughter loved this game, but there is not a whole lot to it. You basically move little pony's along a linear track and collect crystals. Difficulty was perfect for my 4 year old, and we will without a doubt play again. I bought it becasue i am love board games and I am trying to find a decent gateway game to get my daughters into it. I think it fits that purpose. ... show more

  • Haba is our family’s favorite game brand!
As always, Haba produced another great game that is very appealing to my 6yo. The wooden unicorn pieces are adorable, the storyline is fun, and it gives an opportunity for my little one to practice counting. The game is good quality, the artwork is cute. This game allows for “unintended” play by inciting creative/imaginative play with the pieces which my 6yo enjoys thoroughly. ... show more
