I was hesitant to purchase this because judging by all of the other reviews, it seemed like a roll of the dice. A lot of these hoverboards appear to have issues. Maybe I got lucky, but time will tell. I’ve had mine for 1 month so far and it’s worked flawlessly, knock on wood. I have not fully tested the limits of the battery life as I charge it every 3 or 4 days, but it goes several miles and several hours without issue. When I plug it in, it charges quickly. I like the look of the board. It feels good to stand on, performs well and it’s whisper-quiet. As far as the app goes, it’s trash. Launch the app 1 time just to make sure that the self-balancing mode is turned on and then never use it again. The app shows a battery life indicator as well as a top speed indicator, both of which are completely inaccurate at all times. There’s a toggle for turning child mode on or off, but I have no idea what that is as it doesn’t appear to change anything. Maybe it throttles your acceleration or top speed? The Bluetooth speakers sound surprisingly good if you care to play music through them. You can also turn on some LEDs via the app which look kind of neat, but aren’t very bright and likely drain your battery faster. This is my first hoverboard so I have no standard for comparison, but I’m very happy with it. Within 20 mins I went from not being able to stand still on it to gliding around with confidence.
