  • A fun book of making Gyoza
My pictures do not do justice to the book. The book is very well laid out, giving ingredients, fillings, folding types in that order. The 50 recipes then reference the fillings, folding type and cooking technique. Paradise has you purchasing the skins locally that you will use and putting all his techniques instructions on the folding and ingredients. His recommendation of chopping/dicing the meat instead of using ground meat was worth the price of the book to me. The 3 bags in the photo have ones I made before his book and then after his book. His pictures of the folding show from 15 to 18 steps and are very clear. We are very pleased with the purchase and have made 144 dumplings so far. We do make our own skins and my wife like our homemade gyoza's better than the purchased one. ... show more

  • Do NOT buy the kindle version! A waste of money
I bought the book for my son, and we decided to "cook" together long distance so I bought the ebook for myself, after spending a pleasant 2 days reading the book at his place to open the ebook at mine and see a complete lack of everything! The only pictures include are of the ingredient "pile" and the completed dish. Way too much white space, poorly done, pages are numbered incorrectly, there are huge jumps in the numbers 943 is followed by 957?!?! I'm returning mine. Digital is expected to be similar to the original not a notecard with a picture paperclipped to it! ... show more

  • Excellent recipes
Excellent recipes, direct, easy to read and good illustrations. The one thing I would have liked to have seen included, additional sauce recipes. People have eclectic tastes and a choice of different sauces would have been nice.

  • who wudda thunk dumplings could be so fun
ok, short, sweet and not too wordy. get the book especially if you love your dumplings. it is full of goodness, and so creative, the pics does it justice and your mouth will water just looking at them. who would have thought the book was just like a dumpling: wrapped up and full of mmm, mmm, goodness. ... show more

  • BUY THIS, You need it.
This is AMAZING! It has MANY pictures to guide you through the process. You will NOT feel "lost" with this book to guide you. It covers all the basics too! From basic Pantry needs to cutting methods, preparations, many wrapping types to cooking methods and recipes. The quality of the book is top notch, and you should definitely consider this as it is one of the best I have come across. ... show more

  • The funnest book for dumplings!
I am a new ‘dumpling disciple’ and was looking for a book that would be full of visuals of now to make delicious dumplings with different fillings and wraps. This book is so easy and visually appealing to follow. There are more common dumplings all the way up to exotic’ and you can tell Paradise Yamamoto really enjoys making them! ... show more

  • Good Dumpling Cookbook
This is a nice cookbook. I did find it a little confusing regarding the directions for each dumpling because you had the ingredients for a dumpling then you had to go back through the book for folding directions and then a different page for cooking directions. I think had this gentleman put this stuff together on one page it would have gone over better. ... show more

  • this is a beautiful book!
This is a great book! Beautiful photos throughout, easy to follow recipes. My 15 year old son took it, and I had to pry it back, to a chorus of, "Make this...oooh and this, and this one!" He's going to try his hand at a few. Can't ask for more than that
