I just moved to a new home and the space I designated for my firearm safes was apparently very humid. Them humidity in my safes were around 70%. I immediately set to work looking for solutions. None worked. Using these bars was my last option because I did not want to mess with wiring. To my surprise, this had been thought of and a design thot lets you disconnect from the plugin so you can string the wires, was already in place. Long story short.     • Be careful installing the brackets

This is being used in two steel Stack-On gun cabinets I liked this in almost every category except for the plastic mounting brackets. I bought one for each gun cabinet. The dehumidifying rod I installed yesterday was without any issues. The one I installed today I managed to break BOTH of its mounting brackets. I have no idea where to get replacements. If they had made the brackets a little beefier, not only would I have not broken two of them, I'd have been comfortable using the spare nuts and bolts that came with the Stack-Ons in place of the small screws that were included with the dehumidifers. I padded the backside (on the outside against the wall) of the cabinets where the screws popped through with some cardboard and painter's tape so I don't accidentally stab myself reaching behind the cabinet blind in the future for whatever reason. I touched the rod I installed yesterday to check it before I undertook the second cabinet: it was nice and warm, though not overly warm. Comfortable to the touch. ... show more

This dehumidifying rod is a great choice for 34 to 36 sqft gun safe. Easy. Installation and instructions. I had a question about the rod and called the manufacture and left a message. The gentleman called me right back to clarify my question. Great guy and he stands behind his product. I purchased the 18” rod and it’s more than sufficient for my safe. I read the reviews on this dehumidifier and was hesitant on getting it for my 65 gun safe located in my basement. For the first 12 days it only dropped the humidity from 59% to 57%. This was unacceptable. I was getting ready to remove it and send it back, but decided to give it one more week. After 3 more days, the humidity started quickly dropping. It has been a month now and the current readings inside my safe are at 48%. I would definitely recommend this brand but suggest people give it time to work properly. ... show more
