I would give it 5 stars but for backpacking the weight is a bit much. It's insulated so there are 2 layer of stainless steel. If you aren't trying to cut every once this is on the same par as Yeti and doesn't cost as much.

I love this water bottle. I'm on my third because I lost mine twice. It holds a lot of water for everyday use, it has a rubber bottom to keep it stable, and I like the "natural" stainless steel material (very manly). My favorite part is that, even after heavy use, the water bottle does not make the contents taste like metal. We own 3 of these and my 12 yo daughter uses them for school. I highly recommend the 17 Oz which is a good size even for little hands and we bought both the top without a drinking spout and the one with a spout. The latter is super easy to clean . The metal is profoundly light and there is no straw or small pieces that drive you crazy . Over the years we have been thru so many water bottles between 2 kids. Bought two of these. Both work great, but one has some type of small metallic debris rolling around inside the vacuum. It initially made me question whether the vacuum seal may have been broken, but from what I can tell it is just as good as the other. So lightweight and keeps everything cold or hot, depending on your needs for a very long time. Maybe even too long. giggling I put hot water in for my tea and 3 hours later it was still too hot to drink. I had to let my tea in a cup cool off more but I am happy I was able to steep the tea bag as a good temp. with out any added work. ... show more

    • THermos DOES hold 32 ounces and does stay hot overnight.
Wish the thermos came in a larger size. We like to make our coffee at night and have it ready and hot in the morning. Other makers don't keep coffee hot enough.
