I needed a small mower to get into areas I couldn’t reach with my riding mower. I was having trouble pulling the cord to start my gas mower. The push button start was exactly what I was looking for. It is not self propelled, but is so light weight, that it doesn’t matter. It cuts well and I usually use it for about a half hour just to trim around the house and patio. What a great product! I am a smallish woman and was unsure if I was going to be able to mow my own grass. The gas powered lawnmowers are too heavy and having to mix the gas and oil is a pain that I did not want to experience. So I bought this recommendation of neighbors. I love it. I use lots of Greenworks tools and have a basket full of batteries at this point. I generally love their products and am pleasantly surprised with this one. The blower is a solid hand held blower, better than the other two Greenworks blowers I have. The trimmer is a single line spool, but a capable little machine. It isn't very long, so if you are tall, you may hate it. I'm sort of short, so it fits me fine. The mower is my first battery mower. I use a big gas bagger, but it is heavy and hard to work in the tricky spaces. The green works mower is light and you can easily do ditches and humps and places larger mowers don't reach. I use it to clean up around shrubs after I trim them. It makes a nice clean edge, almost like a larger weedeater would. It doesn't hold a bunch, so you have to empty it frequently if you are picking up lots of biomass. IT has good height adjustments, so you can run it low, like a golf course cut or run it high and take the top off of taller stuff. It worked nicely around my farm pond to make a nice crisp edge right down to the water. This is not the tool for a yard of thick grass, even a small one. It has its place in the lawn care tool kit and if you don't ask too much from it, it does its job well. As for batteries, the 4 amp batteries are the trick. The 2 amp batteries are OK, but if you are running something that used a lot of juice, they don't last very long. I have one 4amp battery that is still going strong after 7 years. ... show more

    • Excellant lightweight battery powered mover but the single 40V battery doesn't last long

This mower is excellent at cutting the grass if you have a small yard. The battery typically won't last long enough to either do your small front or back yard. I can usually get the 40V battery to last long enough to do my small front yard t won't but the back yard is slightly larger so if the grass has grown over one (1) week it won't last long enough to do the entire back yard. It only takes 2 hours to charge the battery back to full strength so I just let the battery cool down 10-15 minutes then plug it into the includes charger and finish up the yard a couple hours later. The mower is narrow and very light so it has no problem fitting through a narrow gate to go from a front to back yard and cuts the grass beautifully without all the noise of a gas mower. You can even pick this mower up with one hand if you need to place it in a mud room or something while you are waiting on the battery to recharge. if you I can no longer drive so a gas mower isn't an option for me as I have no way to get gasoline myself so the battery mower allows me to mow my lawn myself without relying on someone to get me gas for a gas mower. My only wish is that the battery lasted longer or they gave you a bigger or 2nd battery to use so you didn't have to stop for a couple hours and recharge the battery before you can finish cutting your lawn. ... show more

I have a small yard but it's always full of little sticks and acorns etc.. The grass was long since my old gas mower broke.. Putting it together took 5 minutes.. Put the battery on the charger for about 45 minutes and it was fully charged.. The battery came with about half of charge.. The lawn mower had plenty of power and cuts great.. It almost did the entire front and back of one charge.. And if the grass wasn't so long it would have done the whole lawn.. I got it on sale for $200 and I'm happy with my purchase.. I went with greenworks because they make multiple things that all use the same battery.. And it's a bigger company than some of these other off brands on here.. ... show more

I bought the 16" 40V mower because I can no longer use a heavy gas mower or drag chords around. I bought it off season to save a few bucks so there wasn't a lot of grass to mow. I did mow the "lawn" in the front yard which was low dead grass and the mower did fine and didn't even use up a bar on the battery. Next I decided to give it a real test by attacking some clump grass that I usually cut with a weed whip, that caused the motor to shut down. Nothing broke and the motor started right up after I reset the start button. As a senior with arthritic knees and back I think this light weight mower is going to work for me. ... show more

    • Love this mower, but good luck trying to find a replacement blade for it.

I love this mower, it's super lightweight, easy to maneuver, and covers a lot of ground in each charge. The battery performs well and charges quickly. But good luck finding a replacement blade. Greenworks themselves are horrible to contact. The blade they finally sent me does not fit, even though they say it does. Apparently this model is no longer being made and they will try to send you a different blade that they say will fit. It was returned and customer service is sending out a different blade that they swear will fit. So we shall see... in the meantime, I've gone over a month without a usable mower. Will update once I get the new blade in the mail.. ... show more

    • Easy to assemble but a bit unwieldy

It works well for the price although the start button/bar combo is a bit temperamental in that you need to hold the button and really hold the bar at the same time or it just stalls. It cuts well but is a bit tough to turn at the end of a row. Battery life seems adequate but my yard is the size of a postage stamp (like 500 square feet) so not sure if you have a bigger yard. All in all, for the price it is worth it for me. BTW, I am a 60 year old woman and assembled it (and use it) on my own. ... show more
