  • Amazing! Especially for a first timer
Size: 16" (4.0Ah) Gen 2
First time in my life using a chain saw. Works great!! Can’t wait to use it more and also have my dad test it out! I was looking for a cheap chainsaw like the smaller trimmers which lead me to discovering this after researching into products learning those mini chainsaws don’t work as well as something like this. I got the 16 inch saw with battery and charger included Assembly was easy I did it myself Had to buy the oil and chain lube because it didn’t come with a starter bottle for that like I thought. Which we delayed me 3 weeks from being able to test this out. The batteries in this chainsaw match the batteries with my greenworks brushless push mower and my leaf blower/mulcher combo!! So far I love all the greenworks products I have and I can’t wait to try more over time as I need them. I like the safety features with the saw cover, also that you flip the black part in front of your top hand to lock the saw, the thumb safety then the trigger. Knowing I don’t have to do anything extra to start or shut this saw down is huge for me! No mixing oil and gas either. I searched into this saw before buying. YouTube had a great video from a guy comparing this 16 inch 4.0ah to the 18 inch 8 whatever numbers for that battery and they pretty much were comparable for the demonstration he did. So I’d you’re interested and want to make sure it’s the right fit for you check the reviews and also YouTube for a video longer in action. The guy explained alot and also compared this chainsaw to a regular gas chainsaw which really helped me since I had never used a chainsaw before. Only Con would be the chain adjuster tool does not attach to this chainsaw so you have to keep it in a place you know where it’s at. I did not have to adjust my chain at all when using it today for a few quick jobs. Me having 3 batteries that fit this chainsaw means I can get a lot of use out of it in one day if ever needed Along with that I have the 3 batteries to extend my usage needed on the mower or leaf blower/mulcher as needed. So my tip is; if Battery and Brushless motors are something you’re interested in see what other potential “tools/yard “machines” you may want in the feature and see what batteries they take so you can have extra batteries added in when buying units with a battery and charger included. If I have any issues I will update my review but this is not a daily need for me, just an as needed for clean up in the yard or limbs that fall down occasionally and need cut up to burn. Another reminder I learned is you can not force the cut with this chainsaw As a normal gas chain saw you can not force the cut either. ... show more

  • Good price, works well
Size: 16" (4.0Ah) Gen 2
This chainsaw is surprisingly robust in power. It would be perfect if all you had to cut were large limbs, etc. The battery didn't last that long, but I'm pleased, especially for the price. I've always had good luck with Greenworks products, which are perfect for casual use.

  • Power, quiet, and easy to work on.
Size: 16" (4.0Ah) Gen 2
I bought the 40V 16" model. So I have a few good and a little bad to report on this. The bad first. The packing was messed up on mine and the plastic blade guard was severely damaged to the point of being unusable. That was the only negative! Now to the good. This is easy to use, pretty light and the battery is top notch I take it camping with me and it will easily last the entire weekend. also the charger is small and lightweight and I can charge it with my little Jackery 240 solar generator power bank if needed Now this might sound odd but I store it upside down, that way the oil doesn't leak out of it and make a mess. Some people have complained about it leaking oil everywhere when they store it, so if you either empty the oil tank after every use or store it upside down that will keep it from leaking. Mine doesn't have the quick adjust for the chain tension so it can be a bit finicky but as long as you have used older style chainsaws this will feel comfy to you and in reality I wonder about those new fangled plastic adjuster knobs and how sturdy they are. I like having the darn metal bolt that I know is going to hold the tension where I put it. It is easy to clean and the battery slides in from the top and locks in place so even if you use it upside down "not recommended" the battery stays put. Now there is a slight lag between you squeezing the trigger and the blade starting like about 1.5 seconds. first time I used it I thought it was broken I squeezed the trigger 4 or 5 times and nothing, then I just squeezed and held it and presto. So squeeze the trigger, hold it for a couple seconds and it will start up. The battery has a 4 section indicator light showing the power remaining so you can have a basic idea of the remaining power. The feel of the saw is well balanced once the battery is in it. it's very front heavy without the battery. Charging is a bit slow but that is better for the battery and will extend it's life. It took me a couple of hours to charge it from one bar left on the battery. Overall I would buy this again. ... show more

  • Great Products, but Customer Serivce is a challenge
Size: 16" (4.0Ah) Gen 2
After waiting on hold for close to 45 minutes, I finally got to a human being. There was a very satisfactory resolution to the problem with my chainsaw (it is being replaced.). Based on my other Greenwoks products, they make great tools. There are significant issues with accessing customer service, and they seem aware of them, and working on fixing them, and once I finally get to a human being, issues have been resolved satisfactorily. There have been moments of major frustration, but I will continue to do business with them ... show more

  • Chain was inferior
Size: 16" (4.0Ah) Gen 2
The chainsaw works great. I have a lawnmower and leaf blower from same company so was pretty sure I was getting a good product. However the chain that came with it became dull after only cutting up a few limbs which had fallen (10-15 minutes). Purchased a new chain and I was able to cut up a huge tree that had fallen during Helene. This time Ive used it over 2 hrs and the blade isn’t dull yet ... show more
