Top Amazon Reviews

  • PURCHASE A 12/3 EXTENSION CORD
Size: 20” Snow Blower (Corded)
I want to start this review by pointing out the proper extension cord to buy. Amazon recommends a 16/3 extension cord. While specifications may consider this "acceptable" please spend the extra money and buy a 12/3 cord. Keep in mind, the longer the cord, the heavier it needs to be. A high quality cord goes a long way in preventing a fire. I personally bought a 100 foot 12/3 extension cord that is made by Southwire in the USA. Now for the actual product review. I purchased this blower as a deal of the day for ~$100, and I cannot believe how well it works. Being such a small, electric blower, I was unsure how well it would do, but for $100 I thought I'd give it a try. Let me tell you, I am very impressed. Assembly was very straightforward, and was out of the box and assembled in under 10 minutes without reading the directions. And if you read the manual, you will find it comes with a 4 year warranty. Will it be of use, or even worth using? Who knows. My intended use of this snowblower is for clearing snow from a flat rubber roof. My garage was built with a flat rubber roof, and while the weight of snow has not appeared to bother it at all, I have always been worried about the weight of snow, especially when it is wet snow. I always dreaded keeping it clean because who wants to shovel wet and heavy snow, let alone on a roof 15 feet off the ground. The blower is light weight at about 30 pounds, so I can carry it up and down the extension ladder if I don't want to start the tractor to lift it up for me. It woks very well, and throws snow well. Under ideal conditions, I have thrown powdery snow 30 feet, and the wet heavy compacted snow, about 5-6 feet. It has made keeping the roof free of snow much easier on my back. I also blow about a 25 foot path between my house and garage. In my snow removal arsenal, I have a V plow on my truck, a tractor with loader, another tractor with cab, loader, and 6 foot snowblower, as well as a garden tractor with a cab and blower, in addition to various shovels. While each piece of equipment serves a purpose, this is a lightweight, compact blower and it works well for the work it was designed for. ... show more

  • Great for the price, not the most powerful.
Size: 20” Snow Blower (Corded)
The media could not be loaded. I was a bit skeptical because of the price and most of the reviews when I bought it said "this is awesome! can't wait for it to snow to try it out!" or similarly unhelpful things like that. But I figured it was worth a shot at less than $100 (cyber monday sale). Just got done using it today in some pretty deep snow (I live in Salt Lake City, UT) and it did pretty good. I have a large 4 car wide driveway that never sees the sun so getting rid of the snow is a must. PROS: The price is great especially if you get it on sale. It works really well in snow that isn't too wet and beats shoveling any day. Folds down for storage which is nice. You can really easily change direction of the chute to throw snow in whatever direction you want. No need to do extra maintenance when putting it away after winter like you do with gas snow throwers. CONS: Have to work around extension cord so you don't run over it (also makes it slightly less maneuverable). Doesn't feel super powerful. Paddle is plastic rather than rubber which makes me wonder if it will crack easily. I wonder if this is something that is worth repairing or just another disposable product that you get what you can out of it until it dies. Not a bad thing necessarily, but something to consider. Feels a bit cheap compared to other throwers I've used. I just don't see this lasting nearly as long as some of the older gas powered snow throwers. I could feel it having a hard time when I really pushed it. It actually tripped the power strip I had it plugged into when I really got going into some deep thick snow. CONCLUSION: A little annoying having to deal with an extension cord, kind of like really tough vacuuming haha. It is by no means the best snow thrower on the market, but for the price it's great. The adjustable shoot worked fantastic and overall I like it. If you have a large area that you're going to use a snow thrower on a TON and want something to last you for years, then I'd go with a Honda H Series like the older Honda HS35 or the newer Honda HS720. I know people that have had the HS35 for over 25 years running strong and even if you do have issues there are a lot of people that can repair them if something goes wrong. This electric one I would imagine ends up in the trash if something breaks on it. With that said I still bought this one and am super happy with it so far. If I can get 4-5 seasons out of it then I'll feel like I got more than my moneys worth out of it. Not for everyone, but still a great bang for your buck. I'll try and upload a video of me using it so you can see and hear how it works. ... show more
