Unlike the old treehouse steering wheel that was made of cheap hollow plastic, and easily destroyed by squires and birds, this new one is made of super hard solid plastic. And the thick lag bolt attachment is designed to take the punishment of any too-much-to-drink summertime reveler. My oldest grandson just turned three and he is crazy about cars, trucks, tractors, or anything else that has a steering wheel. That made this Eastern Jungle Gym Plastic Steering Wheel a logical choice for his third birthday. PROs 1. Very durable. The sun may fade the color over time, but it should last for years. 2. Installation was very simple. The steering wheel comes with a single hex-head screw and washer along with a green plastic cap to hide the screw head after installation.[Note: You will need a 1/2" socket wrench.] 3. The cost was very reasonable. CONs 1. The steering wheel is even smaller than the 12" mentioned in the product description. It actually measures only 10 3/4". 2. The screw that comes with the set is 2 1/2" which will limit where you can install the wheel unless you add a block of wood first. I opted to attach the wheel using a bolt (not included, but will cost you less than a quarter at the hardware store). Bottom line? The smile on my grandson's face convinced me I made the right choice. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ... show more
