Big kettle arrived dented and that area will probably rust. I kept anyway and I've used this constantly while processing my garden produce. Everything is great except the jar lifter is too short and takes two hands to move quart jars to and from the water bath. I'll get by with this one for the season and find a better one for next year. I bought this a few months ago and I use it as much as I possibly can I love that it has the little rack that comes in the bottom to help get the cans out and with the strainer as well very good for the price you pay. Would recommend to canners.

I have always wanted to be able to can tomatoes because they are much healthier than store bought ones. I also wanted to use the fresh tomatoes grown in summer months to keep them from wasted. I did a lot of research and settled on this giant pot. I know it’s called a canner, but it’s really just a really big pot! As it turned out, it was JUST what I needed. It holds 9 pint jars and I was able to process 2 batches (18 jars) in just a few hours! The jars are beautiful and I had no problems! This canner came with everything I needed. There an internal rack, which made it feel safer, and several tools; all of which I used. This is the all inclusive package. Beware that the pot is huge, so you’ll need a place to store it AND a big burner on your stove. The website says it is better to use on a gas stove, which is what I have. I not sure about an electric stove, so you may need to look into that if you have one. ... show more

Everything about this is exactly what I wanted/needed! It’s a perfect “basics” water bath canning kit. The pot and tools are excellent. The only critique I have is for the jar-lifter. This is a good set that includes nearly everything I needed for waterbath canning as a beginner. It's a good value and comes with lots of the tools you'll need for canning but probably don't already have in the kitchen if you're new to canning: a jar lifter, a magnet for lids, a tool to close the lids, a funnel the correct size for filling jars. The only things that I needed for my first attempt at canning that were not included in this kit were the jars & lids themselves, a cookbook (it's ABSOLUTELY vital to follow safety-tested recipes), cheesecloth, and a large stainless steel strainer. ... show more
