These jars have solid one piece lids. They are pretty and I like the labels and the white pen that came with them. I was thankful they were packed in foam because when they arrived at my home the box they were originally in was in a larger Amazon box... the original box was ripped down one side and open. If they had not been in foam, I'm sure they wouldn't have made it here without being broken but they did and I am glad. The Rainforce 8oz jars are perfect storage containers for foods or other items. The word "Mason" in the product name is a bit misleading as it infers using them for canning fruits, preserves, etc. I purchased the set of 30 jars as vessels for homemade spiced pecans, cranberry sauce and other foods as gifts for the holidays--not to be stored for long in a pantry, but to be consumed. I don't know how air-tight they are, but they do have a small seal embedded in the lids so nuts or spices can probably be stored for a few weeks without getting stale. As for cranberry sauce or other perishable treats, I ask the recipients to store them in the refrigerator. Two thumbs up, also, on the packaging! They arrive in a cardboard box with two 15-jar foam layers with circular wells in which each jar is tightly stuffed. No breakage, plus one can easily imagine other uses for the foam layers-with-wells. ... show more

The lids are not well suited for water bath canning. Delivery was quick and on point with no damage. Fair value for the money and we were able to make it work. The included labels and pen were a nice bonus. Just wasn’t what we expected. Probably an oversight on our part.

One piece lid worked perfect for 1" over-the-lid water canning. Didn't need to purchase a large canner pot. I used a large pot, with wash cloth on the bottom and all lids sealed perfect. My jalapeno "relish" recipe called for 10 minutes after water boiled. All lids sealed perfectly. Happy!
