One works perfectly and is so strong it feels like it would actually pull the tile off the wall if enough effort was exerted. One however will not hold its suction no matter what I do, When I lever down one end, the other other end pops up in about 10 seconds. I'm guessing I got a defective set.

This review is for the 11.5 inch Grab Bars for Bathtubs and Showers. NOTE: PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS, because proper installation is important for the safety of your loved ones. I did not want these for a senior but rather for my young son to use while getting in and out of our "vintage" tall-side bathtub. The tub can be quite slippery and he's slipped once or twice (without injury, fortunately), and these have really improved his ability to get in and out of the tub by himself. These came in a two-pack and we immediately attached one to the tile just above the edge of the tub. I absolutely would NOT put one on a textured surface (or over grout) as they may not get a good seal. Fortunately our tile is large and the suctions fit within the tiles. I didn't see the directions on the box at first (to be fair they were a little hard to find), but it says to lift both clips, place suctions on the wall, and then flip both clips down. Having done this, the handle is surprisingly sturdy, despite being made of a lightweight plastic. It's held up thus far with no loosening. I actually had a difficult time breaking the suction to remove it from the tile, which I suppose is a good thing in this case, since a lot may depend on it's security. These are very sturdy and have an amazing grip. Easy to install, easy to move and pops right off when released. Already ordered a second pair.
