    • They work really well. Someone was wasting a lot of electricity and these helped me catch him.

I rent an apartment to my nephew and I also allow him to use my basement. I kept getting large electric bills so I plugged one of these into the basement AC and I started receiving alerts whenever he turned the AC on. I could also see how long the AC was on for. He does not sleep in the basement, he has his own place. Yet he left the AC running from one day to the next over and over even though he was not there. I happened to go to the basement on the days he shut the AC off so I never caught him until I plugged this amazing product in. I also told him I would be plugging one into his apartment AC because he does not pay electric, so I am sure he leaves that one on too. This device will save me thousands of dollars.     • Extremely Pleased with the Govee Smart Plug Pro with Energy Monitoring

I am very pleased with these Govee Smart Plug Pro units with energy monitoring (and plan to buy more of them). I decided to try them after using Wemo (Belkin) Mini Smart Plugs (which now seem to be obsolete and replaced by newer models). Here are my comparisons. 1. The Govee units are much easier to set up. I was quite surprised at how easy and automatic it was. 2. The Govee units reconnect to the WiFi must faster after being plugged in than the Wemo units. I have had problems in the past with the Wemo units losing WiFi connectivity, and the only way to get them working again is to unplug them and plug them back in. That can be inconvenient (when the units are in a place that is hard to access) or impossible (if one is not at home). I have not had the Govee units long enough to know if they lose WiFi connectivity and what happens after they do. I suspect that they will recover automatically. 3. The Govee units have the advantage of being able to use BlueTooth as well as WiFi. 4. One big advantage of the Wemo units is that the programming offers the option to set on and off times relative to sunrise or sunset, which makes the timing of lights adjust automatically through the seasons. The Govee units can only be programmed to turn on or off at specific clock times. 5. Another big advantage of the Wemo units is that they can be programmed to turn off automatically after a set time interval after they are turned on. I use this with battery chargers. After I turn the unit on manually, it turns off after the programmed time. The Govee timer has to be programmed each time. 6. Contrary to the report in another review, I have found the energy measurements to be accurate (by comparing multiple units to each other and comparing them to data from my Kill-a-Watt monitor). ... show more

Totally works as a smart outlet and does show tracking of energy use. Can show amps and power in-app. Product stayed connected and was very quick and easy to set up. I returned the product, but absolutely not because of problems--the smart outlet itself worked just fine. Do be aware, that using the app (Govee) you ARE able to remotely turn connected appliances on and off, but the app does not have features I could find at the time of this review to be able to trigger other smart-home actions based on power consumption (e.g. to turn on a separate fan when an AC cycles on, indicated by a current increase) which was my original goal. To me the price felt steep, but I do think this is a higher quality version of similar products out there so the price is probably fair and it IS a 2-pack. ... show more

These are amazing. I ended up getting these energy monitoring smart plugs over the regular Govee smart plugs because I had moved into a new apartment in a new city/state and was unsure what my energy bill would be. The usage reporting does match what is reported from my energy company, so it’s good to know I can get an estimate of what my bill will be. I also love the remote access to turn on/off and update the scheduling as needed. I use this mainly for my old window a/c unit so I don’t have to leave it running when I’m not home. I just set the schedule to turn on a bit before I’m due to be home or if I’m in bed and I’m hot, just a tap and I can turn it on. I do use it in conjunction with the 36” Govee oscillating fan that displays the temperature in the app so I can control the energy usage that way as well. Lastly, with the Govee app, you can create multi actions. I have it set for when I turn the plug on with my AC unit, the Govee fan also turns on at the same time. Super convenient. If I didn’t need to initially track my energy usage, I probably would have purchased the regular Govee smart plugs, but these were what I needed in the moment and I’m satisfied with my purchase. ... show more

I got these because I always would get to work and wonder if I shut off my breakfast bun maker or my espresso maker. Now, if I have any doubt I can shut them off from anywhere. You could also turn stuff on before you get home or whatever you want to controle remotely. They work awesome.

I've had several Amazon smart switch plugs in the past and they've all seemed to be very finicky, extremely hard to set up, and have eventually just stopped working. I bought these Govi ones, and while I do not like Govi as a company and some of their products, these plugs are amazing. Super easy to set up immediate worked perfect, and I do enjoy its energy display function ... show more
