Works great and accurate compared to fancy digital temp/humidity gauge in room. The bluetooth reach is further than product specs states but just easily added it to wi-fi to access from other building. Functions flawlessly from iPhone.

I first bought one for my incubator. Worked amazing. Then I got a bunch more: for rabbit hutches and my quail cage. You need an app to use it, but it's awesome to be able to check all the temperatures in different spots on one screen at a glance. you can also set your own temperature and humidity alarms for your phone to yell at you if the humidity is too high or too low (you define what's too high or too low for each device). There is a small issue with iPhones not being able to connect to the device if you don't create an account. It's an app bug that appeared after I used it for a while. Originally I didn't want to create an account (why would I want to go through creating an account just to use a thermometer?). And it worked at first. Then maybe they put out an app update and no new devices could be connected to the iPhone app, it just spins. Even the device that used to work couldn't connect after I disconnected and tried to reconnect it. I tried it on a different iPhone device, same story. Android could connect but after about 30 seconds (then again that Android phone is a potato, so it may have been the phone issue). You can go around this trouble by creating an account. I think it's because the devices I connected on my Android synced to my iPhone after I signed in with the same account? Idk. By the time your read this, the bug may have already been fixed. Even if not, creating an account may be a workaround for it. Overall, good stuff. Also, the device is tiny, so it fits in the incubator great and comes with an optional string that you can use to hang it off of a nail or something. ... show more

2 years ago I bought a bunch of these sensors go monitor my fridge temperatures in the 3 compartments as well as a stand alone freezer. One sensor died after 2 years so i got this set to replace the dead sensor. It paired instantly and easily. i do hope the replacement lasts longer than the original though. The signal has no problem reaching the hub through a plaster wall and the hub is 40 feet from the fridge. ... show more

I decided to restart and re-season some of my humidors and came across these little gems. They take a single AAA battery and connect via Bluetooth to a WiFi hub in my office. This is nice because I’ll get high/low temp/humidity push alerts on my phone. From an accuracy standpoint they are mirroring more expensive hygrometers I own. Size-wise, each unit is about the size of 3 sugar cubes lined up together. They’ll fit just about anywhere you’d be concerned with temp/humidity. I’ve purchased the ‘kit’ that came with 3 hygrometers and a hub, and an additional 3-pack of hygrometers. The Govee app is simple and easy to add devices, and it works great with Alexa. Happy I found these. Govee seems to have the smart device thing figured out. (And yes-I realize my humidity levels are off in my humidors…they’ve all just been restarted!) ... show more

The only issue is that I wish I had purchased the WiFi bundle. These work like a charm, but if you’re even considering the WiFi version, get that instead. You won’t regret it.

Bought the Govee 5100's with the gateway (x2) in addition to extra 5100's to monitor snake enclosures. Obviously a bit of an esoteric use but regardless, well within the indications of these sensors and functionality. Set-up is incredibly easy. The Govee app feels like you are about to play a video game rather than set up a system of sensors and other connected devices. Not quite the streamlined professional appearance but it's fine for what it is. The sensors connect to the app seamlessly (initially) and then connect to the gateway and wifi easily. No complaints at all. Unfortunately, I don't believe anyone buys these devices so that they can connect them to an app and then walk away. These are monitoring devices for a specific use. While these devices are not lab certified equipment (I trained in biochemistry and molecular biology), they are advertised to measure within reasonable accuracy. And here is ONE aspect where this product utterly fails. When I set these up, I noticed that I was getting readings that varied by 1-2 degrees F between sensors that were nearly side by side. I then bought a thermometer with an NIST certificate to measure against these devices. This more or less confirmed that they are accurate within typically +/- 1 degree F. For what I need it for, I decided that this was acceptable so I continued using the sensors. BUT......after about 2-3 months of using these sensors and gateways I started to notice that monitoring the snake enclosures remotely was becoming less reliable despite no changes in my home wifi network. Since I travel a lot for work, remote monitoring is considered essential for me and a large reason I bought this set-up. More and more frequently, when I tried to update the sensors remotely the wifi would not update through the gateway. THEN, I started to notice some of the sensors would not update despite the wifi gateway updating the other sensors (I'm using around 12-14 sensors). The battery would indicate full yet the sensors were not updating. Changing the battery would only fix the problem about half of the time. Deleting the device from the app and reinstalling it would fix it about half of the time. The problem though is that some of these sensors would just completely stop being found by bluetooth when you try to reinstall them. Govee support has been responsive and has agreed to replace the sensors (I have still to actually receive replacements) but honestly I have no trust or confidence in these sensors and am going to probably eat the money and find something else that is reliable. I don't need laboratory accuracy but I do need to trust that when I am away the sensors I am using are actually working, are going to work and are going to last longer than a couple months. Overall, definitely would NOT recommend this unless Govee makes some real changes. ... show more
