My first cast net. I wish I had gotten the next size smaller as it takes some skill to throw and get to open up. It was a big hit at the beach and saved us from having to buy bait. It worked as it should every time I used it and had a good amount of weights on it.

It's a great idea but it’s tricky to throw it properly. The rope is very long that i couldn’t get it worked right until I watch a YouTube instruction video. The net is not too heavy that I, a small woman can easily handle it. I suggest you to watch the instruction video before working on it to avoid frustration. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Anglers all around the world know in their heart that good fishing gear can take the overall experience to a great new height. Cast nets are incredibly popular for bait fishing and they have been in the fishing scenario for ages. Cast nets date back to 1000 B.C and you can find its reference in the Bible, too. Fascinating, right? A cast net is thrown into a specific place in the water over a targeted area. When the net lands on the water it starts sinking because of the lead weights. The lead line eventually forms an enclosed area where fishes are caught. Cast net fishing is a lot different than fly fishing, ice fishing, or other kinds of fishing styles. Cast nets help to catch a school of fish altogether and these nets are adored by the fishermen as they are a lot more convenient and efficient than the other methods. Fishermen can catch more fishes at a single go rather than just catching one like a fishing rod. I haven't used it yet but it is a well-constructed cast net. Material Is strong and seems durable. The rope is thin but seems strong enough to hold the net full of bait. Great material and quality. Can't wait to use it. They are handmade and the mesh is made with copolymer monofilament. The strong nylon fiber will provide a powerful bearing and the long 30ft PE braid hand-line helps to cast even further. The braid hand-line also diminishes the risk of losing the net in the sea or river as it will be attached to my hand. When the Goture is thrown, it takes the shape of a parabola in the air and once it falls on water, it takes a circular shape that catches the bait more easily. The mesh has a size of 3/8” which can successfully accommodate most bait fishes. Once the net is thrown in the water, it sinks super-fast due to the loads attached to it. i submitted a review before trying net cause i was mad that i received the wrong size net. Im still mad about that but after watching several videos on different techniques of throwing 8 ft radius nets and then practicing for couple hours I am very satisfied with the net quality. I filled 5 5gal buckets full of golden shiners with 4 throws. I would not have been able to get half that many with 10 throws using my 4ft. The 1/4 inch mesh helps tremendously i only lost about a dozen smaller minnows that got caught in the mesh all the other just slid out of net right into the buckets. If you are looking for a 1/4 inch mesh 8ft radius net buy this one. even though the specs say 4ft radius it is a full 8ft. ... show more
