When I am planting seeds in flats or pots I always set things down then they hide from me. The bright color is great. Having several of these seeders I can load all at once with my different seeds if I want to. When I am starting a few varieties at the same time I plan on putting magic tape on the top so I can write on them to keep them straight. That will keep the seed packages clean and dry. This is a must have for all the tiny seeds you need to sow. Makes it so much easier to make seed tapes and evenly distribute the seeds when direct seed sowing. Keep a few for yourself and give a few away to some of your gardening friends.

Gardening season has not started yet so I cannot say how well they will work. The key will be how well they turn to let seed out. I will say tyhey cost too much but what can I do if I need them?

    • Great for handling tiny seeds and small seeds. Not good for sorting them...
quicker then using the tip of a pencil or damp paint brush. light tapping delivers seed to the target area. takes some practice: with the settings: 1) 0 - is a ramp. look closely to see when the gap is closed 2) load the seeds to the top, then fit the green part and close tightly, saves seeds being crushed in the groove. 3) rotate from 0 - 1 -2 until seeds flow. tiny seeds are best watered from below... from the top and they float or blow away. ... show more

    • Actually made small seed sowing MUCH harder
I sow thousands of flower seeds by hand every spring, and working with small seeds (like snapdragons) is so tedious, I thought I'd invest in a seed distributer this year and make my life easier. This thing is basically useless, and actually makes the job about 10 times harder (and for some seeds, impossible). The plastic has ridges going down the spout that actually stop the seeds from sliding easily to the tip, so you have to give it a "thump" or a shake....and then, as you would expect, several seeds all fall down at once. This is a huge waste for mass sowing, where you want literally one or two seeds per hole. For lightweight seeds, like lilies, it was even worse because they just clung to the sides and wouldn't even fall down the shoot. I kept trying to adjust the opening, adjust the angle, perfect a gentle tap or shake. At the end of a very frustrating hour, I resorted to dropping them into the holes with my thumb and forefinger, like always. It was so much faster, more accurate and resulted in much less waste. I think there are probably great products that cost more money that aid in seeding, but this is not it. Save your money and invest in a better product. ... show more

    • not as what i’ve expected
tiny seeds, like arugula come out through the space where they should be locked inside. you have to use a tape to secure the tiny seeds.
