  • Amateur Astronomers Review
So I consider myself an avid observer who takes the telescopes out whenever the climate is permitting, and I have a few expensive eyepieces that I can compare these to. I purchased these to be the work horses of my kit. Couple things to note: 1. The optics of these eyepieces are very good with only a little distortion by the edge of the image. still better than i thought 2. The build quality is VERY good for 45 dollars across 4 items. the finish has held up quite well and nothing has broken yet. 3. The eye relief is not great but its not terrible, if i had to guess between 15mm - 8mm, definitely not suited for eyeglass wearers. 4. The Apparent Field Of View is approximately 52 degrees as advertised. 5. These are actual glass optics and they are definitely coated (always a plus) About the individual eyepieces: 32mm - This is the best piece in the kit. It can give you a nice wide view of the sky and with a good star chart/app makes finding targets easy. Perfect eyepiece for DSO finding and great for open clusters. its also absolutely fantastic for lunar viewing as well. honestly, this eyepiece makes the kit worth it to me. 12.5mm - This eyepiece is good for low power planetary viewing and combined with the barlow can give you some spectacular views on saturn and jupiter in particular. It is also decent for filling the Field Of View with globular clusters. Barlow - does exactly what it's supposed to and it does an OK job. It's good enough that i still use it with my expensive eyepieces. 8mm - So if your purchasing this kit its definitely not for this eyepiece, the eye relief is not great, and the image is not that sharp. It would do ok for lunar work. it would still be better than an 8mm beginner kit eyepiece though. Bottom Line: I would HIGHLY recommend these eyepieces for anyone who just got a telescope for a birthday or holiday as they would out preform any eyepieces supplied with a telescope kit (unless its a super fancy $1000+ scope). These are perfect for beginners and casual observers but i also feel that they could find a place in a budget minded astronomers kit. Side Note: I also purchased the 40mm from them, and in case you were comparing this kit with the lower power kit, go with this one. the 40mm is great for even lower power but not fantastic (Tight FOV @ 44Degrees). ... show more

  • Good quality eyepieces, barlow not so good.
Perfect for the price, 32mm wide view is mu new go to piece for sky viewing no strain on the eyes, solid build quality and I use 8mm with 2x barlow for planetary viewing on my 6inch reflector, barlow lens I did not quite like the lens rattles around when you shake it and it feels lighter than my other barlow which gives a feel of cheap, does the job as a begginer barlow allthough I prefer to use my old one as the images are a tad better, still as a pro you can screw off the lens and just use it as a lens extender smthing I cant do with my old barlow, still the barlow was a bonus for me I was more interested in the eyepieces. Only con is they came in transparent zip bags and not in the small white eyepiece boxes which you usually get, were put in a bubble bag and sent to me, as a international customer would have prefered bit more protection for shipping. all in all perform very well would recommend if your a budget astronomer like myself :) ... show more

  • Takes some getting use to
I’ve gotten great shots of the moon And Saturn. With timing and patience these are neat to use.

  • Made my telescope much more useful
I have a 114mm newtonian that had only the 25mm eyepiece and 2x barlow that came with it This set made it much more enjoyable

Worked fine in my telescope.

  • Just Ok
I bought these to use with my Meade 90az telescope. The eye pieces work fine but they aren't as good as the eye pieces that came with the telescope. I was hoping they were better quality based on the reviews. I found the image to be brighter but lacking detail that the Meade eye pieces provide. The barlow is better than the Meade one however. ... show more

  • Not perfect
This product is hit or miss with the lenses. The lenses are reasonable. The Barlow lens makes the image look blurry. My other celestron Barlow lens provides a crisp image. If you are expecting to see clear images, this may not be the product for you.
