  • 3 Day Install But Worth It
I'll split my review into 3 separate sections, setup, structure and usability. Setup: It takes a long time, the manual is 100+ pages and searching to find the right piece can be difficult at times. It took me 3 full work days to complete this build, 2 of those days I had an extra set of hands and some of the tasks require a 2nd set of hands. You'll need sockets, a drill and 1 highly recommend an impact drill or your forearms will be shot after the first lag screw. 99.9% of the pieces I needed were there. 1 did have to go and buy a couple bolts and had to replace a lag screw that never had its head molded into a hex pattern, it was completely round. But all the wood and brackets needed were there. The wood is all stamped with their part number which you get the hang of interpreting after the first few finds. The manual is decent at describing and showing pictures of steps. If you have put together a pre-made piece of furniture you can probably figure out how to put this together. There was one bracket that was included that was different from the manual and when I contact Gorilla, they told me they changed the design and sent me an alternate manual insert showing how to use the new bracket. So customer service was good, but just wish they had included the change with the manual, it would have saved a lot of headache trying to figure out what the heck I was supposed to do. The covered slide was the WORST part. It was difficult to get the holes to line up right and required a lot of pressure and manipulation to get it all lined up correctly. Luckily that was the only part that I would call difficult, the rest was mainly tedious. Overall, I would give the setup a 2.5-3 out of 5. You could pay someone to do it for you, but if you can use basic tools and have a weekend with a friend, it can be done on your own and it was quite satisfying when completed. Structure: The quality of the wood is pretty good. We didn't have any issues with bowing or twisting, my garage smelled like cedar the whole time it was stored in there. The bolts and brackets are heavy duty and 1 have no question this will still be standing tall in 10-15 years. The holes were mainly pre-drilled except for a few that couldn't be due to placement. I didn't have issues with splitting wood with screws or anything like that. The swings and swing set feel very sturdy and 1 use it as an adult without hesitation. Overall, I'm happy with the structural integrity of the playset. That being said, its not made for adults and the instructions clearly say that. Istood on the platforms while installing various things and 1 never felt 100% confident it was going to hold my weight (190lbs) but it also never gave me an indication it was going to fail either, it just doesn't feel confident in holding adult weight. Usability: My kids love it. The rockwall is great, the added fun accessories are fine but feel a bit flimsy, not consistent with the rest of the playset which feels sturdy. The recommended steering wheel placement doesn't make sense as it hits part of the structure posts and is only recommended for a certain thickness board, all of which are impeded by other parts of the structure. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase and the quality is good, we'll see how it lasts over the years. They recommend re-staining periodically and that seems like it's going to be a nightmare honestly because there is a ton of wood and so many obstructed sides, but is standard for any wooden playset, so it is what it is. ... show more

  • Slightly different from the Amazon photo but still great
The Gorilla play set from Amazon is beautiful and sturdy and my grandkids instantly loved it. It was somewhat difficult to assemble and took several days. We had to go to the hardware store twice to get 2 different types of screws that were missing. The product we received was different than the one pictured in the Amazon photos. We got green plastic starburst insets at the roof peaks instead of wood, and a trapeze bar instead of a 2 person glider. But the finished project is fabulous and about $500 cheaper than the same set on the Gorilla website. We are very pleased. ... show more

  • Play set
Instructions were old and has to call for a few areas. Not a big deal but was working on it on weekend after hours and had to stop and wait. Shipping was a little bit of a mess but overall loves the product.

  • Wonderful product, terrible shipping.
The playset itself is wonderful. However, it was delivered without the top slide. Amazon fixed that with their amazing customer service. The shipping through CEVA is horrible. We scheduled our appointment weeks in advance, and the playset was still far away on the day of the delivery. Their customer service knew it was late and it sounds like this is commonplace. Be prepared for the product to be days late. ... show more

  • Good playset
Love the playset however, received few broken pieces. Hence the 4 stars. Contacted the customer service and they shipped the broken pieces.
