I bought this tool as I have a glass top electric stove. When there is a cooked on spill it has to be removed. A single edged blade works the best and does not damage the surface. I wanted something that was easy to hold and use. It works just great. It comes with a bunch of extra blades and has a compartment in the back for storing blades.     • This knife makes me angry.
I wish I could give this zero stars. Right out if the box, the product sucked. The safety cap was stuck on and I cut my thumb just getting the knife open. Once opened, the knife fell apart in my hand and the nut holding the knife in place has apparently rolled into another dimension, yet to be found. All of this to scrape labels from my new windows.     • Perfect for cooktops
Just right for cooktop cleaning. Applying pressure while scraping doesn't make the blade retract, the way it does with other blade holders I've had. I might get another to replace the one I use for cleaning the windows of my wood-stove. I'm not sure why people are saying you have to reverse the blade to get the cover to stay on. It clicks on just fine for me with the blade sharp-side-out, though I have to admit it doesn't stick on very tight either way. I keep it wedged against the side of the drawer so it doesn't get all mixed up with the rest of the utensils, because the cap would definitely come off if someone starts stirring stuff around inside the drawer (which I hate but haven't been able to convince anyone to stop doing! :D ) ... show more

    • A safer razor blade holder!
Wish I had ordered this sooner! I have a little plastic blade holder and the razor slips constantly. It's a real pain in the task. This blade holder is tight and secure, no blade slipping. It's much safer than that plastic thing. I had to remove old window glazing and this was the perfect tool. I had to remove double sided tape from the bathtub. I sprayed the tape with WD-40, let it saturate for awhile and use the razor to scrap off the tape without scaring the side of the tub. Quick and easy job. The blade holder is durable enough to use pressure when needed. It is large enough to get a good grip on it so I have better control. I like it a lot! Bonus! It comes with 10 new razor blades. I was pleasantly surprised about that. Some projects, like removing foam tape, ruins a razor pretty quick. Awesome to have extra razors handy. I highly recommend this blade holder! Amazon delivered it as promised and I could continue my work as scheduled. ... show more

    • Perfect for cleaning that expensive glass range top
If you only want to scrape paint, then there are cheaper alternatives. But, for range tops this is perfect. First it comes with stainless steel blades—regular blades quickly rust and must be discarded. After use the blade should be removed and reversed with the cutting edge protected just like it was shipped. THEN the protective cap will SNAP on. It falls off otherwise. I consider this to be a safety feature worth the extra step especially with small children around. In order to have the smoothest burr free edge I lightly honed the blade edge on a DMT Green stone (equivalent to approximately 2000 grit). It performed flawlessly in removing the tiny hard bits of cooked food from the glass cook surface. The honing certainly can be used to greatly extend the life of the blades. The honing was done with the blade mounted in the handle—was easy to maintain the proper angle for sharpening. This one is dedicated to cleaning my range top and will not be used for other scraping jobs. ... show more

Great blade foe scrapping stuff of window and windshields. My biggest issue is I bought this because it had a cover. I figured it would be safe to keep the blade on with the cover. Except you have to flip the blade to get the cover to stay on. I don’t understand why even have a cover if you can’t keep the blade up? ... show more

    • Safety Cap Does NOT Stay On
Overall, this razor blade holder/scraper is just OK. The nut which holds the blade in place is a nice design and the scraper works well. However, as other reviewers have noted, the safety cap does NOT stay on. Not at all... not even a little bit. This was the main reason that I bought this razor blade holder, as we have 5-year old twins. The safety cap easily falls off with no effort at all. Quite an obvious quality control failure from the manufacturer, even with all of these earlier reviews pointing to this flaw. ... show more

I've had this product of over a year now, works wonderfully, never had an issue with it at all. The cap didn't slip off at all or didn't fit if I had a blade attached. The refills of the razors it came with with to put in the compartment I found you have to put in alternating the thicker blunt side so they lay flat. My only issue I've noticed with this is the refills. Once I used up the refills this came with, I've bought several other packs at Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, etc. I've come across this each time that the standard razors that I bought separately don't sit in this tool properly. The razors it came with always sat flush in the notches. The store bought razors are ever so slightly too big to sit correctly in the notches and sometimes pop out while I'm scraping something off at work to which I've almost cut myself because of. I didn't realize the ones that came with this were a unique size and can't be found in stores? Unless I'm going crazy and just completely skim over them. ... show more
