  • Great little inexpensive square ruler
I honestly did not have high expectations when I ordered this; but, for the price I figured if I got a couple of uses out of it, and it was "fairly" accurate, then it was probably still worth it. Well, so far, I have been pleasantly surprised. It seems well made, the markings are visible, and they seem to be accurate; even the angles seem to be accurate. I wish they had a larger square, this one is pretty small, but it has worked great and the price was unbeatable. If I ever had a need for a second one, I would not hesitate to order this again. ... show more

  • Nice compact little tool
It’s a nice quick read tool. It’s not 100% dead on for one corner. If you wanted I’m sure a little file work would get you back on. I included a pic of the shim I could get in the gap, as you can see it’s pretty tight. The other angles a;l seem to be perfect. It’s not a game changer but can definitely make a few tasks easier. I dropped a star because it wasn’t perfectly accurate and needs a little touch up to get there. Lines are easy to read and it’s pretty useful and compact. ... show more

  • An accurate, solid, sturdy tool for a reasonable price.
I’m using this in my woodworking endeavors. It works extremely well. It is heavy, solid, rigid enough and provides very accurate and easy layout. Would recommend this tool with no hesitation.

  • Accurate and useful
It’s made of two pieces of aluminum screwed together. Each piece has angles, one 90 degrees and the other 45 degrees. Each piece is accurate for its own angle. In the 2 photos of the 90-degree piece you can see that there is no light showing when my accurate Rockler steel square is placed on the inside or outside. But, one angle between the two pieces slightly more than 90 degrees (see arrow pointing to gap in photo), but I don’t think I’d be likely to use that part for confirming angle on a workpiece anyway. The other angle between the two pieces is spot on. All the ways on the web page showing it being used use its accurate positions. The little holes on one side are intended to allow you to draw a continuous line on wood at a set distance from the edge. I tried a Sharpie with Ultra Fine point and it would not fit. I tried a No 2 pencil with a sharp, but not needle point sharp, tip and it would not fit, and even if it did initially, it would wear down fast and then not leave anymore line. Finally, I tried a mechanical pencil with a .9mm lead and that worked fine. Using the blue metal pin to hold the device at a set angle works very well. The holes are finely machined and the pin fits snugly so that it stays at a 90 degree angle to the base. I’ve already used it to mark 45 degree line on a 2x4. I wish the device had a way to hold the blue pin onboard and out of the way until you needed it. Having it separate just asks for it to get lost. But, I’ll just use the box it came in to hold both pieces and that should work fine. You’d probably want to do that anyway to protect the device - aluminum gets dinged up easily. In spite of my minor quibbles, I’m giving it 5 stars. ... show more

  • More cons than positives.
PROS: Thick aluminum with a nice anodized finish. Multiple functions Angle positioning pin. CONS: Too small to be useful. Very expensive The line-marking function requires a .5 or maybe a .7 mechanical pencil making it not useful. The third leg is only 2.5 inches making some functions difficult. No place on the square to store the angle positioning pin. Was hoping for more from this and the price is overly high given the small size. ... show more

  • Best DIY Tool
I’m a relatively new DIYer and this carpenter square has been a lifesaver. I have used it for a very project since I received it. I’m impressed with its accuracy, and it’s sturdy and well-built. The size is perfect, as it fits in almost every corner. The weight is substantial, so it doesn’t feel cheap. It’s also easy to read, and the manual is helpful in understanding its use. Don't throw the manual away until you’ve seen the examples inside (unless you’re already an experienced carpenter). ... show more

  • Good 3D Right Angler
This is good for straightening that compound corner joint. The ABS is thick and rugged. Should be a long lasting tool.
