These plates are wonderful. I've wanted some with higher edges for a good long while and now I finally have a pair! Huzzah! These, like my other pair of plates from this brand, came securely packed and without a single chip or crack to be seen. They're pretty close to perfect for me. I see these being the PERFECT pasta plates, though I'll definitely have to watch my serving sizes a little more closely, because they still have a decent amount of surface area. They're dishwasher and even oven safe, so have no fear! Your plates should survive! I can't test the former, of course, as I AM the dishwasher here. $23 isn't bad at all for something of this quality. Keep in mind, though it's called black, the colors are pretty accurate in the product pictures. Prepare yourself for a nice, somewhat matte steel gray shade. They don't match my other plates one bit, but ask me if I care! ... show more

The glowworm bohemian plates arrived very quickly and were well packaged. They are tightly packed in a brown cardboard box, separated with thick cardboard dividers. They are beautiful. They have lovely, bright designs on them with a glossy finish. The bottom of each plate is plain white. Our day-to-day dinnerware set is white. I like that I can use this set when I am feeling sassy. The plates are a standard dinner plate size. They seem to be good quality. The plates are thick and heavy. They stack nicely so they don't take up much space. The fact that the plates are dishwasher and microwave safe are a necessity for me. I do not want to handwash dishes and we are always warming up food in the microwave. They do not actually say it on the bottom of the plates as you normally see but the listing does states that they are so hopefully that is correct. ... show more
