This light is strong and works great in my 55 gal tank the auto day/night cycle is also a great feature. 9 different color modes which I thought could me more adjustable but still has all the colors you would normally need, the only con I would say is that the blue could be a more deeper blue but other then that this works wonders for glofish or just a standard 55 gal community tank. I purchased this light as a replacement for the light on my Fluval Flex 15 gallon aquarium. I saw a review on You Tube where the reviewer praised the light but had problems with the suction cups - they would not stay attached to the aquarium hood. He remedied the problem by applying a small amount of vasoline to the suction cups. I did the same when I received the light and all was well for about a week. I went to my aquarium and found the light half in the water and half out. Upon inspection I noticed the problem was not with the suction cup (which was still attached to the hood), but with the plastic bracket. The bracket had broken in multiple places - I assume from the stress of holding the light (the hood had not been touched or moved at all during this time period). My biggest problem is with this company's technical support - which is evidently non-existent. I went to their website and filled out an assistance request form. I have heard nothing from them - zero (and, yes, I checked my spam mail). I can buy replacement brackets - but I shouldn't have to - not after such a short period of time using the light. For this reason, I cannot recommend this product. NOTE: I have revised my original overall rating based on the actions of Glowrium Customer Service. They did end up contacting me through Amazon - seemed genuinely concerned about my problem - and issued a partial refund which covered the cost of replacement brackets. ... show more

I had purchased this because I liked the idea of being able to use different hues to imitate different natural lights of a day/night cycle, but this isn't actually possible on this light. You can only select from the 10 preset light hues and you can't choose a custom hue. I would have liked to have used a natural sunlight hue that got increasingly bright until reaching natural daylight color to mimic sunrise, then had it gradually taper down to mimic sunset and finish on a very dim, blueish hue to mimic moonlight. The gradual increase & decrease to mimic sunrise and sunset works, but you cannot change the hue from daylight to blueish at the end for moonlight. It either has to be blue all the time (which does not mimic natural sunlight) or whiteish all the time. Can't change the colors for different time periods. Also, the preset hues all seem to be geared toward making the colors of different plants or fish more vibrant, but none of them seem to mimic natural light conditions. ... show more

Made my Goldfish sick, raised the temperature of the water too much, every time it would come on, they would freak out and hide. Like mentioned in the other reviews, suction cups are terrible, and controls confusing.

    • Suction cups will not stay secure to the plexi glass on my biorb

My biorb is round so I cant get the suction cups to stick inside. They won't even reach the plexi glass because of the angle. Not even vertical. It will on the outside tho but I guess without the water it will not hold for long, not even if I wet the cups. They will not stick on the top inside the aquarium either. I took the cups off, left the clips on and velcro the clips on the top outside part of the tank. Now we are in business! The lights are beautiful. It was a little difficult at first to set but after u play with it for awhile it will all make sense. ... show more
