My backyard is really a large patio. Lot of pots, big and small, and I had some new plants to pot and some to spruce up. There was no way I was going to lug heavy bags of potting soil up the stairs and out to the patio so I thought I’d give this a try. I just got my second order and so far so good. I haven’t fed anything because it says it has fertilizer in it. I like to use the hose, without a nozzle and the pressure not too high, to directly water the plant. With this soil I like that I press the hose down into the soil closer to the roots. This is especially good for new transplants This soil is working great for that! For established plants I’m using it for mulch. We’ll see how it went by the end of the summer, but I may have found a way to make things easier, better and more fun. 👍 ... show more

I liked the lightness and ease of use. Especially for sowing outdoor wildflower seeds, it seems ideal. Doesn't get soggy, retains a nice level of moisture as near as I can tell. It made for a nice sprouting cushion for the seeds, and with regular yard soil underneath fertilized with compost and also dug fairly deeply, the seeds should do nicely. The one package covered the small area exactly as I envisioned. If you need more soil for a larger area, or for several pots or a big planter, I'd highly advise buying two or more bags. Reasonable price compared to some other major brands. I've never used coir before, so we'll have to wait and see on the ultimate outcome. ... show more

This thing is high pressure packed and there is just an incredible amount of potting soil in it! Used this for 8 new outdoor plants, each in an 8-10” pot and have plenty left over! It’s a nice soil consistency excess allowing water to drain nicely.
