  • Great mailbox that holds up to the weather.... and holds up decently after a beating
Color: Mocha Style: Kit
I put up this mailbox at our house in Spring 2012 and 4 years later, it still looks just as good as when it was installed. My wife absolutely LOVES the fact that she can open the back door and retrieve the mail without stepping on the side near the street. Installation was easy requiring only a 4x4 post in the ground. I only dug the hole about 20" down and filled with quikrete and that was plenty to make it sturdy. The only thing I would like is a better (thicker?) design around the plastic "gussets". I have found that this is a weak point when I drove too close to the box with my lawnmower, caught the box with an armrest, and torqued it to the side. The good news is that the box bounced back to the original position --- the bad news is that it tore the plastic. Fortunately, the mailbox still holds up and appears normal unless you really look close or try to force the box sideways. My wife didn't even notice until I pointed it out to here many months later. All in all, this is a great mailbox and holds up well to the elements... and even tolerates some excessive external forces. I thought of dropping a star for not holding up to a torsional force; however, since the mailbox still looks nice and remains sturdy even with the tears in the plastic, I decided it was still worthy of a 5-star rating. ... show more

  • Great easy project piece!
Color: Mocha Style: Kit
Had a ragged out falling apart mailbox and was looking for an easy fix! Exceeded my expectations for looks, sturdiness, and ease of installation! It literally took me 20 minutes (if that) to put it together over my existing post after cutting it down to 30” (wouldn’t recommend that if old post was rotten). Great value for the cost! It will be seen how well it does against fading in the hot southern sun! ... show more

  • Sturdy and not difficult to install
Color: Green Style: Kit
Easy to put together and install. I watched a YouTube video to understand how to put the mailbox together. The video is better than the instructions that come with it. Will need drill if you don’t have a strong grip like me. I bought the 6’ post and house numbers separately. And a 50lb bag of QuickCrete. The house numbers were purchased from Curb-n-sign from Amazon. My investment in a “post leveler” was worth it. I had to cut about 8” off the post so the mailbox would meet the USPS height requirements. I dug my hole about 24” and placed some gravel at the bottom of the hole for drainage before placing the post and pouring the bag of QuickCrete. I stabilized the post while the concrete hardened. After curing, I slipped the mailbox over the post (purchased separately). I secured the mailbox to the post with the screws provided. I then attached my house numbers with similar screws (galvanized). House numbers purchased separately. FYI: I moved my mailbox from my front porch to the street. I had to get permission from USPS before moving. I also had the underground gas line marked before digging. ... show more

  • Problem with assembly
Color: Mocha Style: Kit
I just recently purchased this item. I found it very difficult to put together. I got help from my son who is really good at this and he couldn't do it either. The problem was getting the paper box attached to the mail box. It should be very simple. Just put the tabs in the slots and pull it to you. We tried many times and one tab would always ride up on top of the slot leaving a gap in one corner. We never got it to fit right. I put the mailbox up with the gap still there. I don't think it will effect the function of the mailbox, it just looks bad. Other than that it seems to be a good mailbox and should last a long time. I doubt if anyone else will even notice the gap, but I do. Maybe you will have better luck with yours. ... show more

  • Large capacity and indestructible.
Color: Mocha Style: Kit
Great product and USA made too. I’ve had one of these for close to 20 years. I replaced our old metal mailbox with it because neighborhood hooligans had beaten all the mailboxes in the area into crumbled junk. They were not able to hurt this one and I’ve been very impressed. While this unit is super tough, it is not totally “indestructible.” After almost 20 years, I finally had to replace it. After several idiots backed over it, county mowers hitting it, teen vandals with bats, and what appears to be a direct hit from an asteroid; it needed replacement. I can highly recommend this item. No one can be totally sure that a meteor won’t land on it but I’m pretty sure it will be the last one you buy. ... show more

  • Love it but…
Color: Mocha Style: Kit
Received quick from the seller. This mailbox has a quality look and excellent plastic materials that make it inherently waterproof and rustproof compared to metal boxes out there. There are a couple things in the directions that help you in the build so do read them. One thing in particular not mentioned in the directions part 4 was difficult for me (see pic) is when aligning the slots and using my body as a brace I did have trouble getting it in and had to employ my wife to help hold in place. That said, after that it was a breeze. Also you must purchase lettering separately. You will need 2 and 1/4 (2.25) inch letters to fit in the given location. Some people use larger ones and get them to work but I would recommend to not do that. We do love our new mailbox and totally recommend it. Put some stone around the base so you don’t have to trim it! ... show more
