I am very pleased with my Brightlight model #10000 mailbox. I like it, my wife likes it, and even our mailman likes it. He took some pictures of it which he will share with customers who are planning to replace their mailbox. Even though the unit came very well packaged, the corner on one of the address panels was cracked and the panel needed to be replaced. When I called to request the replacement, I spoke with John – the CEO. I expected the standard whining: “… it’s so small … you really can’t see it, yada, yada, etc., etc …” Instead, John shipped a replacement panel that day and I had it the following day. John strikes me as a friendly person who rolls up his sleeves and likes to solve problems for his customers. The package included everything for the installation: the parts, the hardware, a rechargeable battery, and even the allen wrench to secure the screws. It also included a schematic and instructions how to assemble and install the mailbox. Even though the instructions were clear and easy to follow, I found the installation video on the Brightlight website to be very helpful in order to visualize the process. The mailbox has a very pleasant light which illuminates the house numbers at night. It is powered by a rechargeable battery which, in turn, is powered by a solar panel. In conclusion, it’s a sturdy, elegant mailbox with a flawless powder-coated finish that adds to the curb appeal of my home. It was easy to install. I love it and so will you. Jim J. ... show more

I Absolutely LOVE my Brightlight mailbox! It’s really well made and so beautiful. I couldn’t wait until it got dark outside so I could see how it measured up at night. It did not disappoint one bit. The numbers were bright and definitely easy to see at night. My neighbors also commented on how I have the best looking mailbox in my cul-du-sac. Not the mention if you have a question or a problem, the owner of the company will personally answer the phone and answer or correct any issue you may have during the installation process. ... show more

I was a little nervous on speding close to $500 for this mailbox due to the reviews shown. But I did, read the direction and installed it. Be sure to flick it to either the cool white or warm white light, if you don't do this it will not turn on. Lights up on 3 sides, so besure you setup the arm and mailbox in the correct direction as well. Strong powder coated steel tube. Dug mine 18" into the ground and pour fast set concrete mix. Works very well, neighbor complimented the look and how it light up. No issue, no worries and works as expected. ... show more

I didn’t know what to put for easy to install, I gave it 5 stars. Truth to be told, I hired a guy to put it up for me. But the guy who clearly has done this in his entire career did it within 2 hours;) You do need concrete to install it, and preferably a pole digger (? I’m just paraphrasing the guy, I have no clue myself). The mailbox came well packaged, but a little piece on the top of the pole was damaged. I ask the sender about it and he sent me a new pole. The next pole was even more damaged, it could be that it’s damaged during transport. The first pole did work after all, the install guy managed to get the parts to fit. The mailbox looks stunning! I love how it lights up our house number. And more importantly, if the Schonbach’s comes back and runs down this mailbox too, they WILL notice. Our flimsy wood pole was no match to their driving skills. But this metal monstrosity will definitely hold up:D ... show more

Upgraded from a plastic mailbox that really had no curb appeal to this nice pewter mail box. It looks 1000x better. Installation was straight forward and it’s very sturdy. Today is day one so I’ll let you know how it holds up.

We live on a busy street and I wanted to replace a double door mailbox. This looks ok and works as promised. However, when opening the door, the mailbox shakes. After this photo was taken concrete was added to the base which stopped the post from shaking when the door is opened. However the outstretched arm continues to shake. It is likely my husband will need to drill extra screws that didn’t come in the packaging to get it to stop shaking. ... show more

After a brief conversation with John I ordered the mailbox kit. I couldn’t have been more pleased with how well made it was and how easy it was to install. The instructions were well laid out and the video instructions were very well done thanks to Beightlight Mailboxes’ marketing person (Michelle). The only place I deviated from them was when I used the Sika Post Fix product instead of concrete. In my opinion it made the job even easier. I’ve added three pictures. I bought this mailbox in July of 2020. I’ve had nothing but issues with it since I bought it. First, the solar light stopped working after 8 months. I spoke with John, who I believe is the owner of the company and he sent a new one out free of charge. 6 months later the replacement solar light stopped working. I called John again and he insisted that the solar lights have a less than 1% failure rate. He sent me another one after a small fee. Now 6 months later the replacement for the replacement solar light stopped working. I didn’t call John again as I was not going to pay for another defective solar light. Last week was the last straw. The powder coating on the mailbox is peeling and the door to the mailbox broke off. I called John yet again and told him all the issues I was having. He said the best he could do was send me a new mailbox for $85 or a used one for $35 plus shipping. I said I shouldn’t pay anything because I’ve had a bunch of problem with a mailbox I paid over $400 for. He said that was the best he could do and that $400 was cheap for this kind of product. Imagine that? $400 is cheap for a mailbox? Don’t be lured in by the fancy solar lights that will die in 6 months. Don’t be fooled by the shiny powder coating that will flake off in less than two years. I wanted something to improve the curb appeal of my house. All I got was an eyesore. ... show more
