  • Caution HOT
Size: 1500W
This is the best one I ever used. I am a Mobile Detailer and during cold days, I like to heat the water. It gets so hot, you can’t stick your finger in the water. Very well pleased with this item. Built heavy duty.

  • So far, much better than a similarly-priced alternative ...
Size: 1500W
I'm using this as a secondary heater for an inflatable spa. Bought it as a backup replacement for another type of heater available on Amazon that's fully submersible ... that one cost just a few dollars less than this heater, and turned out to be VASTLY overpriced, complete junk. I gave up on it after buying/trying TWO ... the first failed after about 3 weeks' use. The second failed within a week. This one's a little more difficult/awkward to use for my application, because the upper section of it isn't submersible and it has no in-line on/off switch. But the electrical connections and heating element are FAR better quality than the junk one I tried before. I just "jury-rigged" a float assembly (literally, two empty half-liter water bottles zip-tied to the upper section of the conductor rods) to keep the upper part of the heater out of the water. Now using, checking the heating element section, and cleaning off any deposits every day. Working great so far ... guess we'll now see how long it lasts ... [Update, about 6 weeks in: welp, this one started tripping my GFCI outlet too. I pulled it out and just left it sitting for a week, trying to figure out what went wrong, and considering other options. One day on a whim, I tried putting it back in the spa, and it worked again, so I figured out that steam from the spa had worked its way into the electrical block at the top of the heater, causing the unit to short/trip the GFCI breaker. So, once it was completely dried out/working again, I sealed the entire portion of the block where the electrodes come out with silicone. That seems to have done the trick ... been working again with no problems. Sealing this part of the block with silicone may disable the unit's "auto shut off" features, but I don't ever expect to need that anyway. The way I've got the thing hooked up, the electrode is always submerged, and the circulating spa water prevents it from getting any hotter than the temp I set on the Inkbird relay/controller that automatically turns the heater on/off. I've also perfected my "float" system, so zero chance of the electrical block ever getting dunked in the water. Necessity is the mother of invention ...] ... show more

  • Using it with inflatable hot tub
Size: 1500W
I am using it for a small size inflatable hot tub (158 gal) because mine went out (heater went out first - it started tripping the breaker - and now even just the bubbles trip the breaker - but that is a different story). Anyway, this heater is very impressive - it heats the tub in less than 24 hours (I start it at night, and leave it to the next day. By maybe mid-morning, much of the water is hot - BUT it's very uneven, with some colder sections. I stir it up to get the heating even, and then with a little work and occasional stirring, I can use it in the afternoon/evening). So the overall heating time is pretty much the same as the tub's original heater, except a) this also will go hotter if you want (tub's original tops is 104) and b) does not circulate the water. I put a rope over the tub so the heater doesn't touch the sides (not sure if that's needed or not), and I don't get in with it in there (so it could down some while you're in). So the negative side is that the hot water is not being circulated, so it's really not the exact same as the original inflatable hot tub because you have to work to get the heating even. But it works, and if your filter still works and you just need the heating, it's a cheap fix (maybe not cheap on energy - haven't tested). Still, if you use the tub a LOT, it's probably worth it to get a new tub (this process is kindof a hassle - but I don't use the tub that often). But the machine works great for its intended use! ... show more

  • Purchased for business (auto detail) and saved me at home!
Size: 1500W
My friends on the East Coast use these during the colder months to heat up their buckets when detailing and to also heat up water for carpet extractors with no inline heater. I'm in CA so I purchased this for the latter. Well, I'm upgrading my garage into a studio and we were without water for a little bit due to new gas lines, electrical, drywall, etc. I used this several times with ease to heat water for a bath or a one-bucket shower. Hey, it works... ... show more

  • Great for heating water for a camp shower
Size: 1000W
I bought this to heat up 3 gal or 5 gal bucket of water to take a shower, while camping. It does use a lot of wattage, but for a relatively short period of time. I hooked up to the Ecoflow power station that I have or to the 2000W pure sine wave inverter that I have hooked up to the alternator (to recharge the Ecoflow more quickly). Of course if you were at a campground with power outlets, you could just plug it in there. But it seems to work great and can heat a 5 gal bucket of water in 10 min or so. Of course I could boil water instead, but is quick and easy. Just drop it in the water and it heats it up and to very hot if you want. I just get it warm enough for a shower and unplug it, so i don't use up extra power. But I can recommend this item, from my experience using it. ... show more
